Happy, Shiny Balloons to Watercolor!

Hi friends! I hope you are settling in well to the new year! Yesterday I thought it would be fun to paint a New Year themed painting and this is what I came up with.

This painting was really easy and you only need 3 primary colors of paint. I hope you give it a try. Watch the video to see how!

This was fun. I painted it a sketchbook since I know I wouldn’t be framing it. Talk about a no pressure painting, I knew it would be irrelevant as soon as I painted it BUT the techniques learned and practiced would serve me well in the future the next time I needed to paint something shiny and reflective. Don’t stress out over your art, just enjoy it! Happy painting!

  1. Thanks-would never have thought of this in watercolor. Looking forward to your craft room tutorial. I’m most interested in lightening and affordable, efficient storage for art supplies in a small room.

  2. What a wonderful idea for birthday cards! I usually try to think of something personal but sometimes I just run out of ideas. This can be fun for children’s cards too because they are proud of their age! In Germany the “round” birthdays (decades) are special so a card showing a 60 or so could be a nice idea.
I also like trying to get shiny objects look shiny, it’s a change to what I usually paint …
I’m also looking forward to the craft room/ corner ideas. Although I badly need a place to myself I never seem to be able to get it. I know it’s mostly my own fault because I think I shouldn’t be taking up space just for myself but that’s another matter altogether.
