Easy Craft: Napkin Decoupage!

Hi friends! I am always looking for cute mugs to hold my pens and brushes. A couple of weeks ago my pens were getting a little too cramped in their current condition. Then I saw a brand new plant pot in my stash and I know what I had to do…Decoupage!

Learn how to deal with the delicate nature of printed napkins in today’s quick and easy tutorial then make one for your brushes!

Supplies: (Affiliate links used)

Directions:
1. Paint pot white (You need to do this because the napkin will become sheer when you adhere it. Let dry.

2. Separate the printed napkin sheet from the white backer and tear into manageable pieces and then adhere the napkin pieces to the pot overlapping where necessary to achieve the coverage and look you want.

3. Accent the rim with a contrasting color if desired.

Oh, one more thing…

Just a heads up that my online school may be down from 11pm Eastern Time tonight (June 6) for about an hour for scheduled maintenance. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks for crafting with me today and til next time happy crafting!

What I got at the stamp show…

I’m Back From my Trip & New Paintings in the Shop!

Hi friends! I got back from teaching at the Heirloom Stamp Show last night. I had a great time with my classes, seeing old friends and checking out the new goodies the vendors had to offer! I’ll have a show and tell of what I picked up at the show on my blog tomorrow (or tonight on YouTube if you are really excited to see!) It was such a fun time and I can’t wait to play with my goodies! I think I am going to try some techniques that I learned this afternoon while I rest my voice since I don’t think I stopped talking for 4 days LOL!

I also wanted to pop in really quick today and let you know that we just posted the new artwork for June in the shop. They are all original paintings and prices start at $45 with free USA shipping. Paintings are available on a first-come, first-served basis as they are original so there is only one of each.

Thanks for having a look at my art and til next time happy crafting!

I love the puffy surface of this card. I took a photo at an angle but didn’t manage to get all of the puffiness to show up but you can see that in the video better I think.

And if you don’t want to bother with all of the steps it’s still pretty with no texture paste. You could even ink the whole thing with clear embossing ink while the stencil is on, then remove the stencil and sprinkle with embossing powder and heat for a similar effect. Make this idea your own and have fun! Til next time happy crafting!

The Other Giraffe…

Hi friends! I am still traveling but I wanted to have a watercolor video for you today so I decided to record the “other giraffe” example from the rainbow giraffe livestream a few weeks ago.
