Sketchbook Sunday Episode #1

Hi friends! Today we are starting a new series called “Sketchbook Sunday” where I share a process video from my own personal sketchbook. I have developed the habit of getting up before other members of my family on sunday mornings, making coffee, putting on a podcast or audio book and working in my sketchbook.  I’d often share photos of my sketchbook work on Instagram later that day and many folks asked me if I had a video tutorial of the projects so last week I let the camera roll as I worked and then I took the footage and narrated it.

I hope you enjoy this time-lapse and more than that I hope you make a bit of time every week to work in your sketchbook too:)

Speaking of sketching I am working on a new online drawing course. Here is a sneak peek!

My new drawing class will be in my online school on March 9th 2018. Stay tuned for an exclusive discount offer for current viewers!  Drawing and sketching can provide so much happiness and satisfaction and I am so excited to help people learn how to draw!  Have a great day and til next time happy crafting!

  1. Wow! Loved this video! So inspiring. Speeding up the painting process and adding the narration after is masterful. Thank you so much and looking forward to more. With gratitude, Susan

  2. Hi Lindsay,

Thank you for sending me this email with the link to your latest blog post – Sketchbook Sunday Episode #1

I watched your You Tube video tutorial and absolutely loved it! I left a comment there and on your blog post after I had read that too.

I can’t wait for episode #2 next Sunday.

    Till your next email

  3. Hi Lindsay 🙂
Today’s video was great and so colourful; Thank you!
Thank you for the idea of keeping coloured pencils close by and in a handy container instead of being on a shelf out of sight. I made some thinking of you cards, the other day, and had to search for where I had put the coloured pencils.
I had used some of your ideas, from your other videos, in making the cards; THANK YOU!
    Take care.
    Best wishes.

  4. First of all, thank you Lindsay for being such an inspiring teacher! I enjoy all of your posts, even those for art techniques that I don’t
practice! ( I mainly paint in w/c’s or oils). Your new Sunday Sketch sessions is particularly great as it is inspiring me to do the same one day a week, or more often if time permits. Thank you for sharing your joy of art and your process with us.

  5. Well…I must admit, I was scrolling down, rather late at night, and thought to myself “Mmmm, those candies look good”. THEN, I realized one was a PAINTING! So realistic…totally fooled me! 😀

  6. Lindsey,
Just finished reading your story about your favorite red coat. I so identify with the” do it quick while I’m inspired.”I love the satisfaction I get from that kind of project!
Wanted to tell u how much I’ve enjoyed your tutorials on you tube.
4 years ago you did a cosmos painting. I have painted along with you on that 3 times. I wish I knew how to send you a pic of what I’ve done.
I made it a Birthday card to send to my sister.
I have just found you a few months ago. You made a it look like I could do that.
Thank you so much you are an inspiration!!!
ps. I also enjoyed you sharing your journey of how you got to what you’re doing now.

Tell me what YOU think!
