Power is Back On! Happy November!

Hi friends! I hope my fellow northeasterners are warm and safe after the big and somewhat unexpected windstorms Sunday-Monday this week. We just got power and internet back late last night. Some towns recommended postponing Trick-or-Treating at the last-minute but since we had a generator we had our annual pot-luck Halloween Shindig and was able to pass out candy and host a hoard of teenagers (how are my kids teenagers?!?) My only regret is that I didn’t get any photos. I think many people are doing Trick or Treat on Friday so we all might costume up again, at least I’ll grab another bag of candy incase kids come around. I love Halloween!

The storm we had was nothing compared to the hurricanes earlier this fall down south. My friend Sandy Parker for Crafting for Almost everyone posted a video to gather supplies to help out our fellow crafters that lost everything during the floods and hurricanes. Her goal is to help crafters replenish their craft supplies and she has been receiving many donations from crafters! There have been fewer people requesting supplies though so if you were affected by the hurricanes and need supplies, or you want to help, check out this video and get in touch with Sandy.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween and til next time happy crafting!

  1. So glad your power is back! My brother in Milford is still without, but he’s a hardy lad and will persevere! Thank you again for all of your inspiring videos and tutorials! I’ve been able to bring joy back into my life by creating every day!

  2. I’m glad Sandy’s account wasn’t TERMINATED WITHOUT WARNING by Google’s YouTube. MFT ‘s attorney threatened an ACTIVE DUTY serviceman’s wife about showing alleged “knockoff” unbranded dies similar to their products. Much to our dismay, she decided to self-censor her videos. Weeks later when I tried to log into her channel for updates, I got the message, “This account has been terminated due to a third party counterfeit claim.” That Google would pander to these venal companies without their having to prove “counterfeit” claims in court is CRIMINAL. That the money-grubbing branded die market would go after a a ACTIVE DUTY service man’s wife & an older woman buying these high-quality very cheap dies to make cards for vets and not the Chinese manufacturers/ distributors/ sellers is so ridiculous it’s absurd.

    1. I heard someone talking about that in an artist facebook group I am in, they were trying to find out why an account was gone and they determined it had something to do with Aliexpress. I have never ordered from them because they seemed sketchy to me and I was told by a friend who owns several art brands that they knock off their own customers, for instance a company hires a manufacturer to make a product for them (dies, paint sets, brushes) and then the manufacturer turn around and undercuts their customer and sells them on aliexpress. It is awful and happens all the time! The companies should go after the counterfeiters and not the consumers. Unfortunatly Alibaba is a chinese company and US copyright laws don’t apply so I think the manufactures are just trying to stop the damage. I think if they reached out to the consumers and explained the situation most of them would voluntarily remove the videos.
