Stamp Giveaway & Fall Card Coloring Tutorial!

Hi friends! I am so excited to offer another giveaway this week and it’s only Tuesday! I will be giving away the stamps I used to make this card and all you have to do to be entered in the drawing is to leave a comment. This is open worldwide! I will pick a winner and notify them via email in one week!

I used 6 stamps to create this image and I will teach you how to use masking to make your stamps more versatile. The wagon and pumpkins are separate stamps. Knowing this technique will allow you to fill this wagon with many other items so you can use it for more occasions. I bet you have stamps at home that would be more versatile if you tried masking. I will also show you how to color this scene.

  6. I love the masking technique and the card! I am a relatively new stamper who collected some supplies and never really used them. I’ve recently started stamping with your stamp school videos. I have different types of stamp pads such as pigment ink, versamark, water based dye ink. You mentioned alcohol based ink in this video. I would really love to know more about the differences and what to use when.

  18. Pumpkins are my favorite. We just recently remodeled our kitchen and my theme is pumpkins. I have pumpkin zentangle I made as décor and a soft pastel of a pumpkin my daughter created when she was 12, she is the creatively talented one in the family-sometimes I am a little jealous of her creative abilities. Anyway, I have recently began card making and would love the pumpkins.

  30. Great card! Love the process. I have some rather old stamp pads and water color pencils. I have tried the archival ink (package states acid free, dye based, archival) and it still tends to blur and smudge when it comes in contact with the water. I have let it dry for 24 hrs. Should I heat set it, or use a clear embossing powder? The latter tends to raise the image too much adding distortion and an unwanted gloss. Are all archival stamp pads suppose to be water proof or resistant?

Thank you for the opportunity to win these delightful stamps!

  43. Great tip re: swatching. Especially Spectrum Noir, Bic and Sharpie. Cap colors are not anywhere near close. I have done a little simple masking, but really don’t have plans for any projects including that technique right now. I hate fussy cutting, but the results ARE worth it. I don’t know why I didn’t think about taping pieces together to get a larger size. Might have saved some storage space to not have to buy multiple size pads!!! (Although I never pay full price. I have a giant brick of packs of post-its with company logos I got at Goodwill for less than a dollar for about 50 pads of 3×5 inch. I am still using some from a company that closed in 1994, but I am on the last pad! Way to go for frugal!. Is it addiction if you never pay full price????? Thanks for all you teach me.

I’ve watched several of your tutorials on watercoloring because watercolor supplies is the only type of art supplies that I currently have. Currently I’m doing ceramics at school as an extra curricular class and absolutely LOVE it. Art supplies can be very expensive but I’m building my collection little by little. Thank you for this opportunity of having a chance to win these supplies. It would be amazing to be able to branch out and discover new types of art and maybe discover talents of mine that I have yet to unmask. Again, thank you for being awesome and taking your time to post tutorials and other videos for people, including myself, to enjoy.

I use Post-It’s for masking too. They work great! Even generic ones from the Dollar Tree work well. I used to cut out the stamped images entirely for masking, but now I only cut what I need to cut out which saves time. Thanks for that tip Lindsay!

I have been working on Halloween and fall cards and am having a blast…I have only tried masking one time and it turned out great…I really need to do it more and I am so excited because after watching your tutorial I realized I have a die truck that I can fill with pumpkins and I am going to have to check and see how many different pumpkin stamps I can find in my stash to see if I can do this. I am not sure if I have the right sizes. Would love to win these stamps. You give me so many ideas.

  133. I love the masking technique specifically that you moved the pumpkins in different directions. I thought of filling the vintage wagon with Christmas trees and wreaths but then I thought how would you mask a horse at the front of the wagon? Its so fascinating to me to see you color how well it all blends you make it look so real. Thanks for a lovely giveaway and great techniques.

  141. Love these stamps, Lindsay (this is Cindy Matthews, btw) and I can think of a dozen stamps in my stash that would work in the wagon, including some cute little kid ones. I used masking to make some items for my nephew’s wedding, including thank you cards that were an engagement gift, a guest book and finally a wedding album. I have a simple pine cone stamp that’s part of a mini set from Inkadinkado to use with their stamping gear. I made a few masks (from Post-it paper – the cheap stuff from the dollar store) and moved the stamp up and down and around and in a mason jar stamp as their sort of signature thing – they had planned to decorate the venue with mason jars and pine cones. (It was lovely) They were thrilled and it was so easy! I’ve used masks for other things but that was the most fun.

I have one cow stamp and I by using the masking technique I can stamp a herd of cows…and then underneath I have the sentiment, “Herd it was your birthday”. People are surprised that it is just one stamp and cannot figure out how its done…until I tell them.
