Quick Christmas Wreath Card!

Hi friends! Oh my Goodness, you guys overwhelmed me with love and support yesterday and I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart. In keeping with my effort not to get stressed out I am trying to get ahead on Christmas cards. I really enjoy making and sending handmade cards so for me it is worth the effort to make them. I just need to start them early enough so I have plenty of time and I like to make small batches of different designs so I don’t get bored. If we have learned one thing this week it’s that crafting should be enjoyed or it is not worth doing:)

You don’t need any special tools to make this card, just some paper, stamps and ink! Watch the video to see how!

Supplies:

Last year I put a bunch of card making supplies in a small tote and kept it in the living room and invited my kids to make cards. It was fun and added many cards to the Christmas stash. I have learned to let go of perfection over the years and keep my Christmas cards simple and manageable and getting the whole family involved really helps because we are making memories and many hands make light work.

Again I want to thank you for your kind words and understanding yesterday. Stress is a funny thing, I have had a backache for about a month that ibuprofen would not touch and as soon as I hit publish on that post it started to fade away and my back feels great now. What a difference a day makes! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

  2. You must have been reading my mind, Lindsay. I was going to message you today to say maybe you could do a simple card or craft project once a week or so, keep your Friday routine which everyone enjoys and some other technique which touches your creative soul.

  3. So glad your back is better. I have serious back issues so I can relate and I am sooooo glad you are better. I am loving the Christmas card videos so very much and looking forward to making cards. Thank you because you deserve so much more than just the words. I really love your videos whenever you feel like doing them. Don’t give in to other junk you hear, your followers love you the way you are.

  4. Hi Lindsay!! I missed yesterday’s blog, although I’d seen your tutorial and even painted along. I went back and looked at your blog post. You are awesome and I appreciate every single tutorial you publish! We all get overwhelmed with life-stuff!! 😀 I would never want you to try to keep up with your daily schedule of videos and posting if you are overwhelmed, just need a break, or most importantly, you and your family need time together. I don’t know much about how YouTube earnings work. If there is some way to help boost your channel I’d be happy to do it. I’ve read that “like, share *and comment*” is important – especially after your live sessions! I read that it is important for your fans to comment on the replay, because chat during the session disappears. So I try to remember to comment something. I don’t know if I can afford the LifeBook; sorry – my little dog just cost me about $1K in vet bills! See there’s all that life-stuff again!!😝 But all is good! I still tell everyone I can that you are the best instructor I’ve ever seen. I hope you are able to get to whatever goal you want for yourself and your family. And I’ll watch whatever, whenever you post!

  5. We all have had bad days. Put them behind you and start a new day. I used to write for my job and having to come up with so many articles in a short time left me with writer’s block. I would think that would happen with daily art projects. God bless.

  6. Thank you for sharing your cards with us. I absolutely love the peg stamps. They are so versatile. Peg stamps.com sends the orders out quickly, too.

You could always re-post an older video when things get too hectic. I’ve been watching for a couple of years and I wouldn’t mind seeing something older. All you’d need to do is say it’s an old post and the supplies may not be readily available, but it will give an idea on what can be done. You are an inspiration to us all. Don’t beat yourself up over the small stuff. I’ve been there, done that and it ain’t pretty. Love you.

  7. Please,
LINDSAY, stop beating yourself up! I don’t know how you do half the stuff you do. Maybe it’s time to take a step back and, as Ann Greene suggested, repost some, maybe a lot, of your old videos. Specially the ones where you showed us how to be “frugal” and the ones where you showed us “craft” projects like jewelry, knitting, paper beads! I loved the ask-a-crafter segments, could watch them over and over. Your joy and love of what you were doing was so contagious. Just priceless, like you are to ALL of us.

  8. You encourage me so much! I just love and appreciate all that you share! Our lives are chaotic right now with medical issues, and household clutter. So, some days all I can do is watch. But I find VALUE in every episode! I think your painting is way prettier than the reference! So there! Now I’ve said it! That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! LOL. I look online multiple times per day to see if something new is on. If and when you need rest, we all understand. But rest assured, your PEEPS WANT to see you, your work

  9. And hear about your life! You are the BEST at teaching me in the way that I am able to comprehend. Just for the record…whether I comment or into… I love seeing your programs! Thank you so much!

  10. I love that your kids are involved in making those cards, and your phrase of “many hands make light work” is one of my mom’s truism sayings. She used it to make us understand and participate in everything from folding laundry, shelling peas, hulling walnuts, drying dishes, etc. Your cards are beautiful. I made all of mine in January (DORK!), but I upcycle old cards rather than make anew. 2017 I may try the stamping and die cutting ones, but I have so many friends that save and give me their cards that I don’t know which way to go. Glad today is a better one for you. And I know that stress can give us all aches and pains that when we relax aren’t there. Blessings.

  11. Hi Lindsey,
Glad to hear that your feeling better:) If you feel that you should cut back on your filming then that’s.what you should do. Your loyal viewers will understand. You can’t always make everyone happy. There will be someone out there that will complain about something or other. You have to do what’s best for you. Keep up the awesome job. Rosie B.
