Sometimes Sunshine is the BEST Medicine!

Hi friends! I always thought it was a romantic notion when doctors would prescribe a holiday by the sea to an ailing patient in old English literature. Not that I’m all that well read but the grandmothers doctor did in Roald Dahl’s book the Witches and that’s good enough for me, and that’s some wicked fine literature too! I spent the afternoon at the beach today with a couple of friends and the kids, it was lovely and I feel worlds better for it! Here is a little watercolor sketch I did at the beach today:

Today I have a vloggy haul video.  I had some requests to do a birthday haul so I decided to share the crafty gifts I received!

Video!

I want to thank you for following my blog, in the video I mentioned a friend who’s crafty channel was terminated wrongfully and thank goodness she got it back last night. I would hate to lose contact with my crafty peeps and subscribing to my blog (which you probably are since you are reading this, if not there is a box in the upper left hand sidebar of this page) and my email newsletter (which I only send if there is something new and extra exciting!) I am so relieved that my friend got her channel back but it really makes you worry about your livelihood when you make online videos for a living but even worse would be to lose all the connections with your artsy community. Thank you so much for being a part of this community and sharing part of your day with me, til next time happy crafting!

  1. So glad you are feeling better and got to enjoy time, sunshine, and art with your friends. Glad your friend got her blog/channel back. I know that must have been disconcerting for all. My 12 year old cat went missing and showed up 24 hours later so losing something/someone that is precious takes the wind out of you. Then it’s back and there’s a collective sigh. Hope that made sense. Thanks for sharing your talents always!!

  7. Glad to hear you are feeling better again! You sure were well sooner than I would have been! I might try out spending a day on the beach too next time.

I love that painting, it would be nice to see a video of it being painted one of these days …

It was also nice of you to show us your presents, it was like being there while you were getting them. I have a glass pen too and haven’t used it yet because I’m scared of dropping and breaking it. t’s not like I have a habit of dropping my pens all the time but if you KNOW it will shatter if you DO ….. It would be easier to clean that glass pen than the usually dip pens.

  8. Hi , glad you are feeling better, the Ocean is always good.
As you live in the East coast of the USA, and I live in the most West and South, of the U.K. , you could say we live opposite each other lol.

Love your channel and emails, would hate to loose you.

  18. Thank you your encouragement in doing art. Used lession of one layer card where you used tape across for message on to an envolpe front for card for wedding. It was well received. Your idea sparked me in using information in a new way and that is what art is all about.
    Glad you are better.

  20. Always entertaining and informative. If your youtube feed were ever taken away I think we all would form a class action suit! Really scary because they are not specific….anyway I would like to watch you play with your new pens. Later gator
