Hi friends! Viewers have been asking me about pocket letters for a while now. The Pocket Letter trend was founded by Janette Lane as a way to send goodies and notes to current or new pen pals. The notes and goodies are housed in baseball card page protectors. There are swap groups you can join too and the movement is worldwide. I started out having no idea what I was doing but finished with a project I was happy with:
It feels like a cross between cardmaking and project life and artist trading cards. Best of all it is a social craft, you make, swap and collect them. It is easy to store the letters you receive too because they will fit in a standard binder!

Supplies:
- Pocket Pen Pal Dies & Sleeves

- Paper and Cardstock
- Assorted embellishments
Directions:
1. Die Cut all dies in the Pocket Pen Pal series from cardstock.
2. Trim out tags and decorations for pattern paper.
3. Gather supplies and goodies to share.
4. Assemble the crafty goodness and slide them into the page protectors

I love making pocket letters! I’ve made a few of them! They are so much fun to make – and to receive! I went over to Scor-Pal but I was so disappointed that the Bundle is sold out, sad face here! Really cute pocket letter. Those dies are fantastic. I made my first one a few weeks ago and gave it to my friend who introduced me to papercrafting. She had never seen one before and loved it.

Never heard of pocket letter til now. Thanks for explaining 🙂 I sometimes send a card to another crafter wz some goodies in it but often used clear envelopes to put those in, devided by the contents, like ribbons, buttons, etc. I will def.try these next time . 🙂 also as you mentioned, for my organization, esp.for those which became low in stock, like ribbons, so they will be easy to find and will be used til the end 🙂

I wondered why I wasn’t getting notifications from YT any more when you put up a new video. I investigated and somehow (it wasn’t me) my notifications had changed to mobile only? I had never seen this setting before and now I have changed it to e-mail only (I only have my phone on when I go out) . . . I didn’t want other followers to lose out if theirs had changed as well! How do you find groups to join for the pocket letters

Hi, Cindy, there are some groups on facebook that swap pocket letters. If you’re on fb, just search on “pocket” and lots of them come up. Also I’m pretty sure I saw one over at Splitcoast Stampers too, but could be wrong. I’m not in a group but I’ve made some for my friends and vice versa. They are a lot of fun to make and tuck in all kinds of crafty goodies. Also very fun to receive! Good luck!

I had heard of these before and from what little I had seen of them actually thought there was a little more “letter” to the whole thing rather than just sending supplies. Yay! Finally a set of dies I won’t be wanting. That doesn’t happen very often when you’re addicted to dies like I am.

How do I respond to a pocket letter? One of the pockets had questions, so do I put my answers in one of the pockets AND have an about me pocket?
