Adult Coloring Book GIVEAWAY!!!!

Hi friends! I’ve finally done it! I jumped on the coloring book bandwagon. I did not have far to jump, I’ve been eyeballing these for months. I loved the idea of detailed designs for adults to color (heck, yeah, I’m a stamper after all) but I also wanted to be able to “do” something with the images after I colored them. So today I came up with a couple of ideas for you to make with coloring book pages!

coloritblog

I made a bookmark, greeting card and glittered pen. Watch the video to find out about these beautiful Color It coloring books and to see how to use pages to make fun crafts!

Video!

Would you try an adult coloring book? They are so much fun and I love how you can use the colored designs just as you would patterned paper or a rubber stamp. Or you can just color the images and leave them in the book, or tear out the pages and frame them.  If you want to try before you buy you can download 4 free sample pages from Color It here! You can purchase the coloring books I used today on the Color It website or on Amazon. I was really impressed with the quality of these books, my kids like these detailed books and they have books from many from different publishers and I can say hands down the paper in these books are nicer than others and something I really enjoy spending my time on. Honestly, I would LOVE it if they came out with a blank marker pad with this paper, it is beautiful!

Oh, did I mention I am giving 3 of these books away?

For a chance to win one of these books simply leave a comment and tell me what one is your favorite. This giveaway is open to USA residents only so be sure to tell me what state you live in (I’m a bit nosey LOL!) I will pick a winner next Tuesday so make sure to get your comment in before then!

I want to thank Color It for sponsoring this video. These books would make an amazing gift for anyone you know who likes to be creative and needs to unwind, heck who doesn’t like to color? Thanks to you for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

  44. I liked the Mandalas the best but the Calming Doodles would be a close runner up. The flowers seemed a bit too bold for me where at least the doodles were bold but abstract. I picked up a coloring book from Five Below (Do they have those in Maine???) for $4 and was surprised at the quality of the paper. Not as thick as the books you have but not cheap either. Zig Clean Color pens didn’t bleed through at all. Haven’t tried water based markers yet. I’m sure alcohol will bleed through, but the designs are one sided and perforated too, so you could pull them out to use Copics. Makes me wish I had picked up more, but I had expected it to suck and didn’t want to waste more than $4 😉 ~Karen P from Georgia

I got some for my granddaughter for Christmas. I do watercolor painting so at first I thought I didn’t need a coloring book, I make my own. However, with the books I don’t have to come up with the ideas of what to draw. It’s already done and I can just sit and pick what color I like, not what color should go with what I’ve drawn. I love the mandalas. That is something I wouldn’t do myself! This is coming to you from an unusually warm Illinois.

Later I found the design coloring books. I work in a nursing home and recommended coloring to a couple residents about 8 years ago. Our social worker thought I was nuts…but the resident LOVED coloring and had several books (she needed the kind with less detail). So I find it funny that I have been coloring for years and it is catching on nationwide. Glad to have better coloring books again.

I like the flower book best. I live in Wisconsin…so hope you can draw my name.

When my special needs son (age 50) was visiting a few weeks ago, I bought him a color by number book and a set of 24 watercolor pencils and a blender pen….little did I know it would keep him focused for hours (unheard of previously). He was able to identify the color in the legend (light green, dark green, etc.) and match it to the pencils. Now his challenge is to color the same page without the numbers, but use the numbered page to assist him in knowing what color to use. These coloring books are wonderful for the handicapped!

  219. I really love your Coloring book craft ideas ! I’ve been coloring in coloring books for ages and still even as I’m in my 30s still enjoy grabbing a children’s coloring book from the dollar stores. They’re great practice tools for practicing your color blending techniques, skin tones, or just whenever you wanna color. I really like the Mandala book and I have some of the larger bold detailed books which are quick to color and I’d love to try one that’s more fine detailed and will take me hours to color. I’m from Los Angeles, CA and sometimes it’s nice to put on your headphones, listen to some relaxing music, and drown out the city noise with a good coloring book. You inspire me so much, Lindsay ! I love all your videos and ideas. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and I wish everyone who entered Good Luck !

She’s a nursing student with a baby at home and my son is a police officer. Their funds are tight so she doesn’t allow herself “personal treats” very often. Oh, I’m from Louisiana!

I’ve done “zentagles” even before there was a name for it…lol So I wasn’t sure if it was something I needed, but after this tutorial, well, you converted me over…talk about enabling… 🙂 . TFS your talent, and I love bookmarks, so yeah these would make great gifts to give. Alice

  224. Hi Lindsay! I live in Yachats, OR. We are located on the Central Oregon Coast. You may have heard of my town for the “Beach Foam” that blew in to shore the other day that made national news. I live just a few streets away from it. Anyway, I really like the Mandala design book. I want to thank you for this tutorial. My 25yr old daughter has an adult coloring book and has been frustrated with having to keep sharpening her Prisma Color pencils and see the waste in the sharpener. I have forward this to her so she can see the options of coloring mediums before she invests in a new medium.

    Merry Christmas!

It makes a big difference if there is no feathering outside the lines and into other parts of the design. Great video!

  253. When i was younger my aunt gave me a coloring book that also included special markers that only worked on that paper. I loved coloring the pages. It got me distracted from a lot of the negative environment i had back in middle school. I was bullied for being a good student, and due to my physical appearance( i was a little chubby. And being chubby is nothing wrong). I lost the book and never thought there would be a book similar to that book. Now i just came across the video and i was in love with the book. I love making crafts and drawing. My room is full of coloring pencils and books and my sketchpad (it even has duct tape because it keeps breaking lol). Since i am a boon work also, i loved your idea of the book mark. I am always losing my book marks lol. And those beads are absolutely gorgeous. They match the drawing and compliment it perfectly. It even looks as if the book mark was done on felt with so much precision. If i do not win one of these books in your giveaway, i will absolutely buy a book. I been looking for these type of coloring books for years and i finally found them.

I love the colors you used. Thank you for an opportunity to win and for now I am in northern Virginia but plan on moving even further north, Wish you and your family a very merry Christmas this year and to Kathy and Lorraine’s families as well. ~M~

  337. Thank you for doing this video, I have been wanting to try adult coloring books for a while now, but just haven’t been able to yet. One of my biggest issues with it why I haven’t tried one yet, is because of the fact that I didnt know what I would do with the pages afterwards, and they are so beautiful, it would seem like just a waste to just let them sit there in the coloring book. So thank you so much for these ideas, I really love the bookmark idea. I think my favorite would be either mandalas or flowers, both seem like something I would really like to color. I would really love to be able to win one of these, thank you so much for the chance. oh and I’m from South Carolina by the way. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

I think my fav. Is the flowers (last book you showed in the video)
I normally don’t care for the thick black lines, but on this type of paper it looks pretty sharp!
