Count down to Christmas Slate!

Hi friends! I had a bag of old roofing slate in my basement and decided to make something with it!

It is a countdown to Christmas calendar and you can change the days because I used chalk markers by Kynsa to write the date! I also used the labels that came in the kit to make place cards for Christmas dinner. Chalk makers are nice because all you have to do it wipe the writing with a damp cloth to remove it! Perfect for labeling and crafts! Save 10% on the set of 10 markers and 40 labels with this coupon code: KynsaNow

I used acrylic paints to paint the design on the edge of the slate because I wanted that to be permanent. Watch the video to see how!

Acrylic paints & brushes
Jingle bells, berries and ribbon

Thanks to Kynsa for sponsoring this video! Have a great weekend and til next time happy crafting!

  2. Great ideas for the Holidays!

  3. Can you use the chalk markers on a painted chalk board steel case door?

    • Chalk markers are not recommend for painted surfaces. Maybe you could test an inconspicuous spot? They are great on glass, slate or commercial chalkboards though or the vinyl contact paper peel and stick chalkboards

  4. Love this idea!! The colors on those markers are stunning!
