Snapdragons in Watercolor & 10 Giveaways!

Hi friends! I have another (or should I say 10) giveaway for you today but first I am going to show you how to paint this picture of snapdragon flowers:

snapdragonfinal

Here is a pattern you can print out and trace on your watercolor paper. I recommend graphite paper but if you do not have that you can scribble a pencil on the back of your printout and trace. You can also see my DIY graphite paper tutorial here.

And this is the reference photo I took at the Common Ground Fair this year. I created the pattern because all of these flowers might be confusing to deal with. This will provide color reference though.

  2. Of all the wonderful things you teach, I think I love your watercolor tutorials the most. Before I started watching you, I couldn’t “do” watercolors–my attempts were always a muddy, blobby mess. Now I love watercolors!. Thank you so much!

  15. Lindsay, I don’t know how you do it all. A mom, a wife, a crafter! You are one of a kind. Thank you so much for all of the great info you put out there for us. I do live in the USA and would love one of the BC awareness watches. I love pink and will think of you and all that have fought or lost the battle whenever I wear it (I hope I win, I hope I win.) I tend to get skin cancer and worry about you when I see you with your pretty pink skin when you get back from your beach trips. Please, I say to you and everyone else, stay out of the sun! Let’s do a watercolor painting with pink, colorful beach umbrellas and ladies sitting under them and children with lots of sun block on. That would be a fun tutorial. I hope some day, all cancers will be a thing of the past.

  43. The tutorial was great. I love the videos like this when you show lots of details and give hints. I discovered that I will really dislike something I’ve drawn and feel like I’m making it worse the more I try to correct them. If I wait until the next day, just like you said, I discover that it really wasn’t that bad. I’m in Ohio which I believe is still in the US. 🙂
