Ask a Crafter!!! (Did you miss us?)

Hi friends! We are back with a brand new AAC today after taking last week off! Lorraine came back because she could not stand missing the rest of winter. I think Kathy and I should go stay at her place in Florida for a while LOL! Oh well, it did get to nearly 50 degrees today! Let’s melt some snow! OK, enough weather rambling, here is the latest Ask a Crafter!

Here is the link to my friend Renae’s free handmade training course. The deadline for registering is today. I saw the first video in the class yesterday and it was amazing! If you happen to click over and the site is down just keep trying, the site crashed a couple of times last night because so many people went over to sign up. If you have a question for an upcoming show you can leave it in the comments! Thanks so much and til next week happy crafting!

  1. What do you think about the MISTI stamp press?

    • I have one of the first she made and I LOVE it. Mauren Wong at youtube has videos on special things you can do. I needed it because I can’t hold on to acrylic blocks without dropping them. You can get “perfect” stamping second or third time if needed.

  2. Lindsay, Just watch “Ask A Crafter”. Yesterday I ordered a 24 piece watercolor pencil set from Prismacolor. You said they are having some quality issues. boo hoo – Not cheap. Do you know the issues. Love your painting videos! Fran

    • I have not heard of problems with the watercolor pencils. It is the regular ones, leads not centered, leads breaking when used. I think the watercolor ones are probably fine. I suggest you use them as soon as you get them, if the sharpen fine you should be OK:) Watercolor pencils are so much fun too!

  3. For those looking for knitting or crochet hooks, I always recommend thrift stores. Often you can pick them up in a large variety for pocket change. While it might not be the one you stick with but it’s an inexpensive way to try. I also look for interesting yarn at thrift stores. So often you can get some specialty yarn for so little money.

  7. You guys are so funny. I love to watch. You didn’t say what you use for envelopes for your cards.

  8. Lindsay is talking about ‘Reflections’ 110# card stock for card bases available at Michael’s…comes in white and creme. They also carry the 65# in various colors which can be used for layering.
The MISTI is WONDERFUL…I have had mine for a couple of months and really enjoy it, especially since I was not always successful using a stamp positioner.

  10. I have a dozen new bottles of Distress reinker and have ordered Cut and Dry felt but I don’t know what I can use to store my homemade ink pads in to keep them from drying out and still easy to use with my stamps. Do you have any ideas? Love your videos.

  11. Hi Gals,
Can you tell me what the A2 , A4, A7 on card stock is all about?

  12. Ladies, I recently got a new PC and for some reason I cannot turn up the volume so I can hear you well. Don’t know if you are recording differently or if I need to check with the Geek Squad to fix something. In addition, could you maybe speak up when the furnace in your place goes on. Sometimes it downs out what you are saying. Thanks so much for all that you do!
