Hi friends! It’s Wednesday and time for ask a crafter! I have a confession about this weeks (and the next 3 weeks episodes) they are in the can, as we used to say in the radio biz. This month has been super hectic with the ladies and I, there was an exploding car (don’t ask) and just general Christmas business but I anticipated this (well, not the car, that was a surprise!) and filmed a couple extra episodes at the beginning of the season for just this reason. That means if you asked a question early on and it was not answered it probably will be over the next 3 episodes! I know you all are busy this time of year too so feel free to wrap some presents, bake or craft as we answer your crafty questions!

sorry about the exploding car! i have had that happen 3 times on 3 different cars….not fun and very scary!! hope you are ok!

It was actually my car that exploded and caught fire as well. My husband was in it at the time but was not hurt. It was a very localized explosion in the engine. Fuel “something” regulator. It was a bit scary but ultimately more of a pain in the butt than anything.

Kathryn, sorry about the car and glad hubby ok. 2 of my cars that started on fire then kaboom i was in! once on an interstate and once going to get a Winnie the pooh and tigger costume to wear for a b-day party many years ago. very very scary! the 3rd car thankfully was not occupied at the time 🙂

I am so glad I found TFC again. I lost you when YouTube decided I had to use my Google email. I never check it. 🙂 But now I signed into Twitter and I get and save all your vids. You saved my bacon the other day, I just started using one the many heat embossing colors I have. I didn’t want to waste my money on the anti-static powder, I searched here first and found my answer within a couple of minutes.

Lindsey, I’ve watched your videos on re-inking markers, but I gave a variable. I purchased a whole bunch of Marvy Uchida pigmented artist markers that have a metallic look for our church’s Sunday school program. Guess what, the kids leave the lids off and they dry out. Imagine that… Do you think I should just do the glycerin/water combo, perhaps with the gum Arabic? Or should I add some more metallic? I guess I could try it since they’re already dry, wouldn’t ruin it any more, but wanted your thoughts or experience.
Secondly, I have powdered gum Arabic, so when it says a teaspoon in the recipe, you mean a teaspoon of reconstituted, correct?

Drat! I also wanted to know if there is a way to “juice up” dried out sharpies? I have Coptc various blending solution and rubbing alcohol of various percentages. Can I pull the back end off the pen and dump one of those in there?

This might be a dumb question but here it goes, lol. I asked you previously about my Reeves watercolor paints being so hard after adding a drop of glycerine and you answered that question already but now I’m wondering, are you suppose to put spritz of water in the pallet before you start painting like you do for the twinkling H2o to liquify the paints? I’m a beginner and I don’t know if I’m using them correctly, lol. Thanks for answering all of our curiosity. Mahalo:)

it won’t hurt, higher quality paint won’t need it but it really helps the student grade paints like Reeves;)

Is there anyone that still makes the long handles stencil brushes you sometimes use. I like the Judi Kins small ones, but have one large one and love it. I think they are by Toybox, but I can no longer find them anywhere. I’d love to purchase a handful of them if you know anywhere.
