Hello Friends! I’m still at the stamp show but thought I’d share a quick and easy tutorial that I filmed the other day:
I used 140# paper and a #10 round brush. I used transparent watercolors from Yarka in the colors: Lemon Yellow, Hookers green, red rose deep, violet and yellow ocher. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and I will fill you in on all of the fun from the stamp show tomorrow…or Monday, depending on how tired I am when I return:) Happy crafting!

i love the vivid watercolor paints and i love this painting! i am new to painting. and i have spent a small fortune on crafting supplies that i don;t really use.
so please answer this question….which company’s watercolor paints are the most vivid and bright? i found that i love colors that are pure and vivid and i don’t mind spending a little extra money.
this yarka paint seems vivid…is it student or artist? what other brands are out there? i know nothing about watercolors.

Hi Lindsay! This is unrelated to your beautiful sweet pea tutorial, but I thought it would be something you are interested in. I tried the perler bead “enamel” dots and they worked beautifully. I really think you should try again if this failed the first time. I preheated my toaster oven to 285 degrees. Baked the darks for 30 minutes. I am baking some light now. They said it takes less time. The darks turned out great. I am definitely going to try your paper dots for alternate sizes and patterned paper to match. Your sweet pea is beautiful. Thank you for showing us how easy it can be. If you get a chance, would you be kind enough to show me how to paint morning glories? It is so amazing how one or two plants can produce so many beautiful flowers.

Hi Lindsay – I JUST discovered you, and am so excited with all you have to offer. I am a hobbyist stamper who wants to try my hand at watercolors. NO education or experience whatsoever, but I used THIS tutorial as my VERY FIRST watercolor! It isn’t even close to yours, but I so appreciate your tutorial, and look forward to growing in the craft and learning from you! 🙂
