I loved the colored pencil fix, what a money saver! If you have a question for next weeks show just leave it in the comments section! So, today I had the day free for project planning, I had high hopes but only managed to push paint around. I decided that I might be able to get some computer work done since my “muse” was on an inspiration vacation and YouTube has a new feature where you can put a 3 second “branding” video up that will show before all of your videos. The video is supposed to represent your channel. This is what I came up with…

Glad Lorraine got the chicken clean. Never thought of giving one a bath. Have bathed dogs and horses but never chickens, guess you learn something new every day. What thread did Lorraine use on her necklace in last weeks ask a crafter? Was very pretty I would of not guessed it was crochet. Love to watch and laugh with you two every week. Keep up the good work.

LOVE, love, love you both! I am ADDICTED. Yeah, for me, Now I’ll never again be confounded when faced with a dirty chicken butt. Ha, Ha. You girls crack me up!
Q: Can you tell me how to DIY a “Wink of Stella” marker? It is basically a brush tip marker (thinking of substituting my refillable watercolor brushes) with pigment inks (maybe, using Distress re-inkers for this part) with a glitter effect (using your, now famous, Dollar Tree eye shadow trick). It comes in many fab colors but the ones I’d use most often are clear, gold and silver. I know we can do it for less than $6.99++ for each one, so how?

I would just use the dollar store eyeshadow and gum aribic or mod-podge and apply it with a brush. I had a tutorial on it on my blog last week:)

Awesome. I saw that tut and have been thinking that that would do the trick. However, would you recommend filling a water brush/pen with that concoction (to write with)? I’m not sure that’d be good with the supremely gluey nature of Mod-Podge, right?

Lorraine as a cowgirl and her hubby doing fast draw AND she got him to hold the chickens so their butts could be washed??!! Absolutely hysterical. Another informative and entertaining Ask A Crafter. That water Lorraine was drinking looked beautiful.

Well, Lorraine may have chickens with fluffy butts, just imagine having to do the same thing to a long-haired cat that doesn’t like the feel of water!! lol

I bought Winsor & Newton Cotman Sketchers Pocket Box Set. I love it. However, it doesn’t come with black. How do I mix colors to make black?
Also, I dropped the tray. Thankfully nothing broke, but the paints fell out and I don’t know how to replace them in the right pans. I’m new to water coloring and don’t yet recognize the color names. Do you have any suggestions?

I make my own black with colors in my painting, like ultramarine and burnt seinna or burnt umber or green and red, any opposites will make black or brown. You can pop the pans back in your palette however you like. I prefer to arrange them like a color wheel.

Thanks! My grands wanted to water color yesterday. All I had was my expensive little travel kit. I swallowed hard and let them use it. They were great about not cross contaminating colors. I must admit they did a better job than I do about that! Thanks for the black and brown tip. I’ll give it a try.

I saw a video with wow embossing powder using small pie tins for a melting pot and heat from bottom it was on a cha video with wow embossing

heh. fluffybutt. great name for a chicken… anyway, i just got the 24 color Sakura Koi watercolors pocket field sketchbook for Mother’s Day – the thing is SOOOOO cute. (http://www.dickblick.com/products/sakura-koi-watercolor-sketch-box-travel-pan-sets/) it fits watercolor postcards on the lid as an easel 🙂 anyway, what would you recommend to paint in a postcard size paper? it’s much easier for me to paint in a larger canvas, and the times i’ve tried going small didn’t turn out so well… lol suggestions? maybe a tutorial? thanks! and you too Mrs. FluffyButt. 😀

Most of my watercolor tutorials are done on 5″x7″ watercolor cards so maybe try on of them. I agree the post card size is a challenge but you will look at the large paper with new ideas after trying small. What a great gift!
