Stamp Giveaway Time & Lots of Inky Goodness!

Happy Friday friends! I feel like giving away some stamps today and it’s a good thing too because the fine folks at Art Neko (Formally About Art Accents) have some lovelies for me to give away.  You can win the stamps I used on this card, and a $10 gift certificate to Art Neko! With Mothers Day right around the corner I thought I’d share a fun technique that lets you get nice and artsy! You will need an old book or magazine page, white gesso (or flat white house paint/primer if you don’t have gesso), some kind of clear embossing powder, a silhouette style stamp and a dye based ink pad and sponge. Ready? Let’s get inky!

I really wanted to feature these Authentic Antique European Silhouettes stamps because they are one of the first sets I got from them  5 years ago AND because that stamp set is on sale for $9.99 (regular price $29.99) for a 8″x10″ sheet of red rubber stamps! I love a bargain. Of course winning stamps for free is even better so leave a comment and you will go into the prize draw! If you buy the set and end up being the winner you can pick other stamps as your prize, yes the owners of Art Neko are that awesome! I’ll pick a winner next Friday. This contest is open to EVERYBODY EVERYWHERE so don’t be shy, leave a comment. Also Art Neko ships worldwide and charges actual fair postage. Good luck & happy crafting!

  6. I think what I like best about your videos ( and I mean only praise when I say this) that you are not perfect and are proud of it. I watch a lot of videos (too many!!!) and sometimes you get fed up and, frankly, intimidated by the perfection of some of the crafters. I know they may have remade the video several times, but that doesn’t help how you feel watching – right?
Thank you for your knowledge and your easy willingness to share, and your always upbeat nature – i always, always feel so much better after having watched your videos.

There are people that walk into your door of life, dropping of a gift and it is up to you to use that gift to the best of your abilities and to past it on to someone else when it is time.

I have received your gift many times over and have relearned many things that I have forgotten from others that have stopped by in my life, but you have reopened that door and not just a smidge, it is swung wide open and I can feel the brreze of the creative winds blowing in.

I can not say thank you enough, but I can pass on the gift that you have so graciously have given away to me and so many more. That will be my gift back to you.

  59. Hi Lindsey,
Can ModgePodge be used instead of Gesso? How would you see through house paint? Didn’t know you could use hairspray on stamp ink for drying nor did I know about the neat use to dry nail polish as one of your viewers mentioned.
Gosh I learn so much on your blog. Thanks.

    1. you should be able to see through a thin layer of flat house paint. You don’t have to use it though but your text would be more dominant. I would not use the mod-podge because ink won’t stick to it:)

All you have to do is go to youtube (make sure you are logged in) and in the left hand column click “my subscriptions” then click “manage subscriptions” at the top then click the “send me updates” box next to my channel otherwise you will not have an email each time I upload a video. It is easy and you can tell youtube weather you want an email each time there is a new video or if you just want the weekly update or it to show up in your feed. Good luck!
