Can you recommend a brand of white pen for highlighting? I’d like to find something that makes a fine line. The only one I’ve tried was a paint type pen and it tended to clog and come out unevenly.

another trick for reshaping brushes… bring water to a boil…slowly lower your brush into the water.. and then pull it straight up… I hang the wet brush from a hanger with a clothespin and let it dry completely.

To date I have not yet figured out how to comment on YT with their last changes, so I will ask you here. What is your opinion on “stamp of the month clubs” and do you recommend one over another? My ability to get out is very limited so I was wondering if this would be a good way to go. thanks for taking the time to answer if you can

Hi Lindsey, I have a couple of mixed media questions for you. Is Inca gold and rub n buff basically the same thing, and do you have a home made version? Also is Lumiere paints just metallic acrylics? If not can you mix something with your acrylics to give the same look? Thanks for your help!!

my brother and I like to adorn our cars with big plastic bugs and other animals. the factory color trends to fade pretty fast, and the only paint that really sticks well and weathers well is Lumiere, so there is something special about it.

Great video again Lindsay. I have a question: I was searching for info but didnt find anything to tell me what the difference is between
Inka Gold, 3D Stamp Paint, Inka Gold Maya and Inka Gold Paper pen?
Im trying to understand if you need all these or one can be used for
various techniques. I think the Paper Pen, if thats the right name doesnt have metallic in it that is the only difference Ive seen if Im right. Thanks, I know this is a big question but hoping you can shed some light on this for me.

Hi Eileen. Inka gold is a rub on paste type of paint that needs to be buffed for the shine to really appear (I will be talking about it a bit in the video) Maya gold has the same shimmering gold color but you don’t need to buff it. The 3-D stamp paint is dimensional and can be brushed on or stamped and the Paper pen (and pearl pen) is for making dimensional dots on your paper, I think it is acrylic based. Also it appears that the Viva Decor US offices have closed so if you want it you might want o get it now:)

You had mentioned you used YES paste to cover books with fabric. Could the paste also adhere leather to a book cover? Or what would you suggest to attach the leather? Thanks for your help!

How do you store your watercolor paintings and cards so they stay nice until craft fair time? Fixative? Plastic bags? You’ve got me thinking craft fair! 🙂

Hi Again!
OK this is getting out of hand..I watch you videos, make a list of things I should get and by the time I find them, I can’t remember what to do with them! AGH! What do you use those little eye shadows from the dollar tree for again? I should know I realize but it is not as easy at it should be for me. I just went to get a soldering iron and accessories. I actually remember what to do with those…thank goodness!

I use them in place of pearl ex, for dusting on clear stamped images to add sparkle, on polymer clay, over paper (set with hairspray) on hot glue embellishments, for my homemade bubble paper with white glue….

Near 18:25 Samantha was given……I didn’t catch what it was and where you told her to get patterns. I don’t own either crop-a-dial or big bite. IYO Would the big bite be easier to use for crafters with arthritis since squeezing the crop-a-dial might be too difficult? For as often as I would use it. the smaller one would be easier to store. :0)

I don’t know who else to ask. I love doing coloring with watercolor pencils. I don’t even try with any other kind as I am left handed and end up smearing across my page. Can you give some tips or do a video of the best way to color\decorate if you are left handed.

try working right to left when you paint. That is all I can think of since I am right handed. Or you can buy or make an artist’s bridge. It is a clear piece of plastic with feet on each end and you put it over your work so you can rest your hand there and not have it touch your drawing. Look for them at an office supply store in the drafting section.

Lindsay, after a 15 year hiatus to do genealogy research I decided to return to my prior interests…every art or craft there was. At age 79, if I’m to use up a few of the mountains of supplies I accumulated during my crafting days before genealogy, I need to get to it. I have learned much from your blog in the few weeks since I signed on. Thank you. A question, please. I have a dozen or so bottles of Faber-Castell’s Higgins and Grumbacher’s “Waterproof Drawing Ink” in various colors. I accumulated during my Calligraphy phase. They both say great for transparent washes or liquid watercolor. The Grumbachers says India Ink. The Higgins says Do not mix with acids or other brands of ink. Is Higgins warning about mixing valid? The inks are OLD, but still look fine. Can you suggest how I can be frugal like you and use them? In DIY ink making? If so, Alcohol or water based? Something else?

Hi Lindsay! Thanks for making such fun, entertaining and insightful videos. I was wondering what Posca Paint Pens are and how would you use them versus normal pens like Copics? I see a lot of people that art journal are using them. Thank you and I look forward to watching ALL your future videos.

they are a waterbased paint pen, probably acrylic ink, they work on every surface according to the manufacturer. More info here: http://www.posca.com/uk/all-material-markers I have never used them.

When transferring watercolor patterns ( yours!) to a large sheet of Arches Watercolor paper (I am fitting 4 different patterns on one sheet) how do you incorporate the Arches logos into your picture that you need to paint? I have tried to keep logo to the bottom right of the picture or do I avoid the logo altogether? Seems like a waste of paper if I do that. The logo is a good size! P.S. I enjoy your painting tutorials, I have purchased 4 so far and I am learning a lot!

I leave it in, it is only a watermark debossed image, plus it is a sign of quality, collectors like to know you paint on arches. It will be more subtle when you paint on it too. You would only have one logo on the big sheet unless they started watermarking each corner. The blocks do not have the debossed logo on them unless they changed it recently. Anyway. I leave it it, I like it:) Also if you mat the painting the edges would be covered possible covering the watermark so don’t trim it off:)
