Ask a Crafter 29 & Introducing a New Video Series!

Howdy friends! I am flying solo for ask a crafter today, it was a busy week and Kathy and I could not film together so you are stuck with just me this week. I did answer a lot of questions though, have a listen:

I mentioned in the video that I received a bunch of mixed media supplies from Oriental Trading Company for a series of  tutorials. I will be calling them “mixed media fun” and we will work in an art journal, yay! Here is a quick video of what I got:

I’ll have an art journal tutorial coming up for you shortly, I am super excited!

Here are the things I mentioned in today’s Ask a Crafter: My tutorial for getting the look of Pan Pastels with regular chalk pastels and a tutorial using the real deal, UKmaryanne’s YouTube channel with lots of great Gelli plate ideas and funnyman John Finemore’s blog, his comedy is hilarious without making fun of anyone else, that is real humor, when you can make someone laugh without being mean or vulgar. I love British comedians!

If you have any questions for next weeks show (hopefully with Kathy) leave a comment and we will add it to the list! You can also join the party on The Frugalcrafter Community Facebook page, if you like us then “like” us! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

  1. I am fan of your channel !! You make me laugh and I have such a good time every time !
I don’t know who is John Finemore’s blog but you sure are as good !!
Keep on being as you are !

  2. Looking forward to all the new upcoming videos you talked about creating, yahoo, all the things I want to learn more about. You did fine without Kathy but its great when both of you are together.

  3. Yes, yes, cleaning always stirs my mojo because I too find something I had been meaning to create something with (and anything is better than cleaning….)

  4. You said you used glycerine on your stamps to refresh them After it’s been on all night, do you wash it off? Wipe it off or just leave it on? Will hurt the ink pad? Edna Burgess

    1. the only time I wash it off is if I had a stained stamp because it will loosen the ink so it can be scrubbed away, otherwise it won’t hurt anything to leave it on:)

  5. Great “Ask a Crafter” today, Lindsay!! I’m looking forward to your new art journaling tutorials. I’ve been so inspired by your watercolor tutorials and am bravely using my new Derwent watercolor pencils…. and enjoying every minute! Please keep making videos using watercolor pencils. You are such a wonderful teacher!!

  6. Hi Lindsay, I hopped right over to Oriental Trading to look at the Shimmering H2O’s and the Dr Ph Martin because I didn’t know what the second one was…couldn’t find them, so I chatted with a customer service lady and she couldn’t locate them either. Do you have an item number for the two items, or do you know what category to look under? Thanks and I’m looking forward to watching the upcoming video’s.

    1. The india inks are under “art supplies” and then in the
“art pens & inks” list. The H2O’s are under the “watercolor supplies”.

  7. Hey there, I hope you haven’t already answered this question. How do I go about making a digital stamp of some of my own original stamp designs? I’d like to make them available in my Etsy shop. Thanks in advance.

  8. Hi Lindsay,
I found the H20 sparkly water color paints at Michaels earlier this year. Also, they are at Amazon.
