Glimmer Bubble Paper, a Valentine and a Winner!

Well happy Friday friends! I’m just gonna jump right in and announce the winner of the About Art Accents Year of the Horse stamp set winner, it’s:  poetryoflifebyjane! Congrats! 172 people entered and your name was drawn, have fun with your new stamps! 😀  If you didn’t win, no worries, the stamp set is on sale for $12.99 (regularly $19.99) and it is worth every penny:) Today I am using more stamps by About Art Accents, some Valentine stamps to make this card:

DCF 1.0

I am entering in the Oriental Stamp Art challenge to use Mizuhiki cord but I didn’t have any so I used satin Rat-tail cord from Papermart instead. I make do. I also made the background paper using a moldy-oldie stamping technique that would be just right for all of the artsy-fartsy cards, scrapbooks and journals we like to make. Get some white glue, cheap eye-shadow and you heat gun cuz I’m gonna show you how it’s done!

After posting that video I was asked for ideas using it in a card, well, here it is:

I hope you have a crafty weekend! We might eek out of the single digits tomorrow (yeah, heatwave baby, where’s my suntan oil?) so that is quite exciting! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

  2. Hi Lindsay….sent you an e-mail again to the Bangor address….it was returned…hope you will actually get it as you did before!

  3. Awesome technique, Lindsay! Thanks so much for the video. I’m looking forward to trying it as soon as I get some eye shadow. At what point in the process do you push the bubbles down for the flatter finish?

  4. Am so excited to win! Looking forward to receiving it. Thanks so much, Jane

  5. Love this technique. You sure are using a lot of doilies lately. LOL

  6. Oh my that is Unique, love it. I guess Im more of a neat crafter not into making messes so when you do watercoloring with lots of water I cringe as I did when watching you make this gorgeous paper, BUT, you just may have made me a messy crafter after all. I loved this. I dont have any eye shadow, I do have Perfect Pearls though LOL, rolling my sleeves up and getting a mat, I do think Im going to get messy today. Love them Bubbles. BTW, that doily looked beautiful on this card.

  7. Gorgeous Lindsay as always! Love how you find a great way to do it on the cheap too! Stay warm, ~Diane

  8. Beautiful card. And I love the shimmer paper you made. When you were making it, initially I thought it looked muddy but when it dried it was lovely. Also, that is a great deal on year of the horse stamp set. Adding it to my wish list.

  9. Congratulations to the winner.
As always you have amazed me. I love that you use budget friendly things. Great work. 🙂

  10. Very cool! Can you believe I have just about every type of Elmer’s glue EXCEPT the original? It looks like I’ll be having some playing over the weekend. Keep your ideas coming–I love ’em.

  11. Ooooh. I new technique to try! Love it.

  12. I love the house mouse stamps, mine are on wood. I have several that were given to me by a friend who had serious health issues and she had never used them. My granddaughter and I will be using your method as we had been using markers and were not happy with the results. Thanks for all your great videos, and stay warm. BTW snow is coming to us (in NC) by Tue.
