Papercraft! Let’s Make a 3-D Snowflake Ornament!

Howdy folks! I know I have been posting a lot of watercolor projects these days so I wanted to post a fun papercraft project today. My sister gave me a pretty 3-D snowflake she made with paper strips, she thought I might like to make some for a craft fair. Not only that but I know you would love them too. Best off all you can get 4 snowflakes from one sheet of double sided paper. I used this paper pack from Oriental Trading Company to make vintage inspired paper snowflakes, watch how:

Easy huh? I suggest you trim all your paper at once, have the glue gun ready, and put on your favorite holiday movie or music and have a snowflake making party! You can also decorate your snowflakes with lace, rhinestones, cinnamon sticks or whatever you like but I thought mine were prim and pretty as is! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

  1. Cute idea and you’ve given us lots of time to make them before the holidays. Now, if only glitter paper came double sided. :0) Thanks, Lindsey.

  2. I love these stars and look forward to trying them. Thank you for sharing the process.

An off-topic question. I have searched and tried to remember the videos in which you mention this, but can you please remind me the size celo bags you order from Paper Mart? I am trying to decide what size to get, and I want to make my purchase count. Thanks.

    1. 6″x9″ is most useful for me because I can put A4 cards in sideways and A2 card in regular and there is a good amount of room! Also they are FDA food safe so I can package treats in them as well!

  3. Love this idea!!! Will make my attempt to make for sure! LOL!! I remember the days when hubby would (try) to grow a beard when the Canadians (hockey) would make the finals. It’s been awhile so he doesn’t have to grow one but on occasion he just doesn’t feel like it and yes, then horrors of horrors it comes out gray! (but he is 62!) Not only am I a hockey widow but yes, he is a Sox fan – there is no winning! as for Martha well she needs to get off her high horses – she isn’t the only one that crafts and I personally think you are better and explain better too! 🙂 Have a great day!

  4. They look great! My hubby is a sports nut too – baseball(Tigers for him – Blue Jays for me), hockey – Detroit again for him, Toronto Maple Leafs for me, and car racing. He doesn’t like football (thank goodness). Luckily for me he encourages me in my artistic and crafting ventures so it works out well for both of us.

  5. Love the snowflakes. Had to order the paper before I made a comment. Got that done. I am not a big sports person so yesterday I had two sons in one room watching Vandy play football, they are Vandy grads and my husband in another watching Tennessee Vols while I was cleaning house. Thought I would just scream at one point. But I made it through it. And they both won. Can’ t wait to get my paper. Have a good day.
