How to mount stamps for use with acrylic blocks

Someone asked me what I did to my rubber stamps I bought at the stamp show so I could use them with my clear blocks, so I flipped on my camera when I mounted some so you can see;)

Yep another semi informative video. I feel like I owe my readers an apology for the rambling (unplanned, spontaneous, un-practiced) videos of late. I’m just sharing when I can, if it takes a couple more minutes to get my point across, or I mumble I am sorry;) Thanks for understanding and as always happy crafting!

PS you can find a coupon code for 10% off your order at Stamper’s Best (the cheapest place to buy cling cushion and I use it!) on my friend Diane’s blog, it’s on the right sidebar, you need to scroll down a bit to find it. Thanks Diane for sharing!

  1. I have done it this way and no cushion at all. They DO work better with the cushion. Hope things are easing up for you.

  2. Thanks for doing this little video. You did a great job for us with an easy-to-do (great!) thing. It really makes me much less hesitant to get unmounted stamps! You’re doing such a great job! It’s okay to go easy on yourself right now.You are doing enough.

  3. Heck! I don’t care HOW much you ramble. It feels like we’re really friends and I’m just over for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and we ended up in the basement – as always. That’s what happens at my house anyway. Thanks for your videos. Love ’em.

  4. Oh hey there…ok sorry to bother ya..I am completely stumped. Saw this technique where a stencil was layed onto paper and then a white goop was applied over it so that when dried it left a raised impression where stencil was…I cannot find or figure out what the white goop was…any ideas???? Effect looked pretty amazing after it was inked, spritzed etc over it…no rush in getting back and please don’t spend time looking it up just wondered if you had any ideas.

    Thanks!

Hope all is going on the upward

    1. The goop is stencil paste but I use paintable latex caulking (white or clear or black) and add acrylic paints to tint it before applying 🙂

      1. Dreamweaver Stencils is a brand I have. It comes in both regular and translucent embossing pastes. You can mix it with iridescent powders or liquid acrylics. I tend to put too much on at a time but when you do it right the end result is gorgeous! Wait til I tell my group about using paintable latex caulking – it’s so exciting to get workable, reasonably priced and easily found alternatives! Have you found a particular brand that works better than others?

      2. Any brand is fine as long as it is latex and paintable 🙂 I look for the squeeze tubes instead of the kid you need a caulking gun for. I usually can find them for 99 cents 🙂

  6. Hi Lindsay, good to see you and I agree, we are girlfriends, you don’t need to edit or rehearse for us at all. You set this up with such a nice feel, like we came over and we are having coffee and you are just sharing all your wonderful knowledge. The informality makes it even more interesting. I hope every thing is going well for you and your sweet family. Thanks for the link to my blog, I will move up the Stampers Best link so no one has to search for it too much. ~Diane
