Happy Friday folks, it is the first day of Summer Vacation and I have started my kids on their pre-TV routine: 30 minutes of IXL Math (a school recommended math program) and I have also informed them that their rooms have to be tidy before the TV is turned on! I know, I’m awfully mean, they also have to read 30 minutes (at least) a day but they don’t mind that. I went down to my studio the other day to tidy up but was distracted by the bin of new stamp show stuff so after clearing a spot to work I played with my new stash, I liked my first try so much I simply turned on the camera (which is always set up) and filmed the process. You can use whatever stamps and stencils you have, stencils with bigger holes work best, and dye based ink, You can use any large brush you have too.
Pretty fun huh? Now between this and the gelli-prints I am going to have to actually use these backgrounds before my pile-o-backgrounds gets out of control. Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing.

so, here’s the problem….every time I watch your videos, I want to go shopping for the stuff you used! If I could make it (money that is) as fast as I can spend it, that would be fine. lol! Instead, I’ll go search out some options I already have and play.
Thanks as always for the inspiration! Beautiful stuff!

always use what you have first, best of all you learn ways to get new looks from what you have! You can use any stamp or stencil with this and it will look brand new!

Awesome technique! I may have 1 or 2 stencils this will work with too. I’m going to go look right now! Thanks so much!
Quick question…where did you find that nifty purple stamp block with the little knob on it? That would be sooooooo handy!
I’m hoping things are going better at your house, and I totally understand about having kids home on summer vacation. I have 3 teenagers here, and it is definitely a challenge!

it came with my stampmaker machine but you can use some E600 glue and glue a decorative knob to the stamp mounts you already have, better yet I bought 1/4″ thick plexiglass, a 16″x12″ sheet ($14) and my hubby cut it for me into many stamp mounts, the knob will keep your fingers from getting inky too!

Thanks! Those are great ideas! I think I may even have a few knobs laying around somewhere… 🙂

I surely enjoy your site. You are so bubbly and very creative in what you do. I smile when I see your name come up in my email listings. My day is incomplete without reading and enjoying your posting. When I see you stamping so at random, I hold my breath. The outcome is a shock at how beautifully created. You are so gifted and use your talent so well in sharing…a breath of fresh air to my day. Continue to have a blessed life.

I don;t have a tutorial on making them but I get the Gel Sticks, they look, act and feel the same as gelatos, they are even made by the same company (Faber castell) but they are made for kids and hence WWWWAAAAAAYYYYYY cheaper;)

Hi Lindsay! Do you have any of the Spellbinders Impressabilities? If you do, could you show us how to use them? I have stamped them with Perfect Medium, impressed them onto cardstock and used Perfect Pearls on top. Very pretty, but I was wondering what YOU could do with them. TFS! Beth

I don’t have any, they are similar to brass stencils correct? I have many metal and brass stencils.

I love this! I did the gelli printing after watching your video on that and got some great results so I’ll be trying this one, too! Thank you for sharing! I do have a question… what kind of mat do you have on your table? It looks textured but it looks like vinyl or something? Is that a pre-made mat or something you came up with?

it is a silicone baking mat I received for Christmas a few years ago, it is thick and squishy and has a but of tooth to it and makes a great stamping surface. The brand is Silpat and Bed bath & Beyond sells them for $20 but you can get a silicone craft mat at a craft store with a coupon and they are larger and cheaper I think;) I put a sheet of craft foam under my may for extra squish;)

I would never have thought of stamping through my stencils, Lindsay! This is such a cool idea! I love the results. It’s amazing the effects you can get by layering, isn’t it. Absolutely beautiful! Like you, I tend to create a lot of backgrounds (because they are fun to do) and then don’t get round to using them. Any suggestions would be gratefully received!!
