WOYWW: Craftroom Tour {in High Definition!}

Howdy folks and happy Wednesday! This week for What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday I thought I would do an updated studio tour and storage video! And (drumroll please) it is in high-definition (notice how I am not in front of the camera LOL!) Just promise me that you won’t report me to the TV show Hoarders!

So I walked into my craftroom the other day and thought “what the hell happened in here?!?” it was a mess, boxes of quilling and knitting mayhem not put away from classes I taught last week, beads everywhere and general crafty chaos…well, you saw last weeks WOYWW desk…just multiply that and add a few more piles, it was a freaking craft obstacle course! So Saturday night I cleaned up my mess (I am a wild woman, home organizing on a Saturday night) and here the photos:

Well there you have it, since my kids are on vacation this week it still looks this way too (will wonders ever cease?) But best of all I come in ready to create and not bummed out about the mess or injured because I tripped over a 25 pound box of glue sticks. If you have any questions about how I store my stash just leave a comment and I am happy to answer it. Thanks for visiting me in my studio today and til next time happy crafting!

  4. I just finished organizing my room and de-stashed. It has taken me almost 2 weeks to accomplish and try to come up with new homes for everything and places for the new tools. I will watch the video and then come back. have to load all the magazines in the truck for recycle. Monica 125

  5. I grabbed a cup of tea and sat here and watched your craft room show! I loved it. I have a lot of the stuff you have but not organized like yours. I may have to do that! Thanks for a fun video.

  6. Oh but not showing us the before photos is cheating!! It’s great to see more of the room though and I totally agree about being bummed out by the mess and no wanting to create.

  10. Wow Lindsay, thank you for an awesome guided tour around your amazing creative space!! It is like Aladdin’s cave. Like you, I do loads of different crafts and it’s amazing how the materials and equipment mount up. As soon as we have moved I am planning on getting my new ARTHaven properly organised with different zones for different activities, with the relevant stuff stored at each station. I just love all your boxes of goodies and felt really voyeuristic, peeping behind your curtains into all your glorious “random” boxes!! I hope when the time comes for me to do a video tour of my new room that I will be brave enough to Reveal All with the less attractive bits lol!! I so enjoyed your video and you really made me laugh with all your fun comments.

    This is probably the most comprehensive WOYWW ever… Sorry not to be involved with WOYWW at the moment but there’s just too much else to do. One day… I shan’t be doing anything creative now until we’ve moved and are settled in.

    Have a great week!

  11. It’s so true–the more supplies we have, the more there is to keep tidy. But it is so worth it when art is as important to you as breathing! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #113

  15. OMG girl, you cracked me up with the “embarrassed” die cutter and the “not to be named” part 😉 No worries about getting turned in to the Hoarders show, cause most of us are embarrassed about our own stash. That said, I may bookmark this video for the next time my hubby mentions that I have a ton of craft crap. This will either reassure him that my stash is not worth worrying about…. OR scare him even worse that my stuff will continue to multiply like rabbits (or ribbon)!!! Thanks for sharing all your secrets 🙂

    • You have no idea how many of my girlfriends ask to show their husbands my craft room, it makes them look so much better:) I will be an inspiration or a cautionary tale, either is fine with me:)

I am so glad you showed us because I am going to try a couple of your storage ideas if you don’t mind. I have been wanting to do a video of mine but I have been in bed with migraine three to four days a week since the New Year. Sorry to go on, but again, thank you so much! ~Jo Ann

Thanks for stopping by my blog for WOYWW and leaving me a comment. The paper at hand is, well, I do *love* paper so! And you recognize my ink storage thingy, right? 28. I so know that feeling, except for me it’s more like holy moly, what a flippin’ slob you are! (me of course, not you). And sometimes nothing will do but that we just address the chaos. You seem to have done that exceedingly well. I am so drawn to your photo of your pens, pencils, makers etc. What a glorious expanse of color…..Hope you are having some fun starting the mess all over again!!

  29. My head is spinning from this video and I am off to continue working on getting my crafting space in organized hoarder fashion as you have done. 😉 Thanks for sharing, it shows that you need to do what works for you – not be magazine perfect! It is the best craft room I have seen.
