A gift in a bottle and 25% off!

Looking for a fun way to package a gift? How about in a  bottle? I  saw a neat idea from Scrapalette over on the Cricut message board and I had to give it a try! But before I show you how I want to let you know that EVERYTHING in my shop is 25% off through Saturday!

OK, now that’s out-of-the-way on to the fun! I made a “Movie Night in a Bottle” using the 2 liter soda bottle label from the Movie PArty Printable kit:

I put bags of microwave popcorn, movie size candy and fun size candy in the bottle too. I will give this along with some wrapped up DVDs as a Christmas gift. Wanna know how I got everything in that bottle? Take a look…

Neat huh? Here are some tips on the soda bottle project:

  1. Rinse out the bottle before you cut, then after you cut the hole you can reach through it and dry the inside of the bottle with a paper towel.
  2. Put in the larger items first then fill in with smaller. You can always drop in really small items or shredded colored paper through the neck of the bottle to fill the top if needed.
  3. Type info in the printable label before you print for a polished professional look!
  4. Look in your recycling bin, you may find other cool bottles (like the square juice bottles) that will hold even more!

Here is a look at the Movie Party kit I used:

And here is your freebie, it is basic so you can use it anytime!

  1. Oh, I’m so using this idea! Great project. Love the bottle filled with goodies. I like to have movie night here with my girls, we set up chairs theater style and make pop corn and have our traditional movie theater candies…WE ARE SO GOING TO DO THIS. Thank you for such an inspiring and fun project. Love the little tag on your bottle.

  2. how cool is this? I now have tons of ideas swirling in my head! You could make one of these and fill it with “get well” items or gift it to a couple who just had a baby (and fill it with snacks for at the hospital). Awesome!

  3. Awesome as always! LOVE your themed party sets! I have to start doing something with them! Since I don’t have kids I was thinking about using them for our Wildtree Parties! Since we have had themes in the past…hum…great ideas!

  4. I just stumbled onto your blog looking at cutter files and this project is the neatest idea! Thank you so much for sharing, I am subscribing to your blog now to keep up with your creativity.

  5. This is such a great idea – I’ve seen it done with crafting goodies but I admit that it hadn’t occurred to me to use it with a movie night treat package! That is really clever and I love that this is a thoughtful and very do-able gift for a neighbor, the kid who cuts the grass, or just because!

Thank you very much for sharing with us at Opus Gluei! Love the creativity and I hope you come back and participate in more challenges with us in 2011!

  6. wow! super duper Idea, I’ve never seen anything like it. Do you mind if I post your tutorial on my blog? from you of course. Thanks so much for sharing with us at OSAAT and wishes to you and your for a Happy Holiday Season
