A Patriotic Page!

Well I did it, this year I actually got photos of the fireworks and they came out great! Here is a scrapbook page I made with the shots.

I used the free version of ShapeCollage software to make my firework collage, isn’t it nifty! I love this software! I used the large photo of my kids waiting to go to the fireworks to cover up the shapecollage watermark

**Important: If you use the free version of shapecollage do not upgrade to the new version because a watermark will be placed over the center of the collage and it is big so the photos will be unusable and there is no way to get the old version back unless you are lucky enough to have it on another computer as I did.***

Here is a close up of the firework shots:

And the glittered die cut, I used the font Madfont and cut it out with SCAL software on the cricut. The glitter is Diamond Dust brand.

This page qualifies for the Gingersnap creations “paint” challenge and For Fun (summer memory).

I painted the background with watercolor and masking fluid, this video shows how:

TGIF and 40% off!

I think every kid in town (or my town at least because they started school this week) is saying TGIF right now! Even if you are not in school you can thank goodness it’s friday and take advantage of 40% off everything at Lindsay’s Stamp stuff!

Here is a quick leftover card I made using a magnolia stamp from the Fancy Flowers Digital stamp set, I had colored it a while back put it was lavender and white so I simply colored over it with a light pink copic marker to make it match a card base leftover from making my daughters birthday cards. Also I added a spray of glimmer mist! The crinkle seam binding ribbon is from the batch I made in yesterdays video and the strip of printed fabric ribbon was from a roll I bought for 10 cents years ago and I’m glad I finally am finding a use for.

I added highlights to the flower with a white gel pen and put dome homemade flowersoft in the stamen (recipe at the end of post), the Just a note stamp is retired PSX.

Be sure to swing by the Lindsay’s stamp Stuff shop at MyGrafico to save 40% on EVERYTHING but do it soon because the sale ends at midnight!

This card qualifies for the following challenges: Aly’s Sunday Challange and Stamptacular Sunday (pretty in pink), Bee crafty (anything goes), Cowgirls Sunday & Craft Den (flowers), Crafty Cardmakers & Wild Orchid (sparkle),  Belli challenge (old stamps-the PSX one is 10+ years old!), Creative Friday (monochrome)and Stamping royalty (rhinestone)

Homemade Flower Soft recipe: Rub to styrofome balls together so make tiny flakes. Divide them up into small jars or baggies and add a couple of drops of ink (I used Ranger Alcohol ink) and shake the baggies until well mixed. To apply to your project simply add glue or dimensional paint (as I did to the flower stamen) and sprinkle the faux flower soft on top and gently press the fluff into the glue. Let dry completely.

Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Surprise!!! Its a boy!

I can’t believe we kept this under out hats all week but one of the designers on the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff team is having a baby today! We are having a surprise virtual baby shower for Tamara who is expecting her new baby boy tonight! If you want to wish her well you can leave a comment of support on her blog Scrapcation Getaway. We love you Tamara, and wish you the best! Here is the card I made for the second time momma, I used Babies and bows, Baby Bingo card freebie and the new Sweet Stitches paper pack. The text frame around the baby shoe is today’s freebie.

Stamps, paper: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

I used the sketch at Mojo Monday to layout this card, it was easy to use the sketch and digi-paper. I cut a circle from the brown polkadot paper using the circle selection tool and pasted it in a new document, then layered the bingo card over it (I cropped out the one I wanted from the sheet) and added a drop shadow.  I printed a strip of the yellow plaid and a scallop circle of the large blue dot and layered a white scallop over that and added my frame and shoe stamp. Then I cut the 3 pieces out and layered them on a 6″ circle card, stitched on a few buttons and added some homemade crinkle ribbon. Want to make your own crinkle ribbon? Here is a video, I used 100% Rayon Hug Snug seam binding from Sew True and colored it with my homemade ink sprays:

This card qualifies for the following challenges: Mojo Monday (sketch), Crafty Emmas Store (anything goes), Corrosive Challenges (masculine card), Die Cut Dreams (soft shades of vintage), In Style (baby, blue/white), Lily of the Vally (circles), My Sherri Crafts (babies)and Practical Scrappers (white pen)

I colored the baby shoe with my Copics and added highlights with a white pen, I see this technique a lot and love the look, this is my first attempt at it, me likey!

The “Sweet Little Baby” text frame is your freebie, download it here.
