Pretty Ditties with a twist!

Howdy! This morning I was playing in my studio and found these twist cards I cut from my Envelope Bonanza set a while ago, hmmm, I thought, “let’s use up some of these scraps lying around so I don’t have to clean” and here is what I came up with:

Die cut twist card and envelope from the Envelope Bonanza set: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

Honestly, my craft room is MORE of a mess now but at least I have some pretty cards right? I had printed the card papers that come in my School Paper pack at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff and I found a scrap of paper from the Shabby houndstooth kit and some leftover ribbon roses and I went to town, a little sepia ink scuffed around the edges made everything match well enough.

Tip: Inking the edges og the paper gives the cards a vintage feel!

When I cut the twist card/envelopes with my Cricut and SCAL I cut 2 per 8.5″x11″ cardstock and there was room to cut a couple scallop circles on the paper too (I used the dingbat font Kutups09 from Clever Someday, it is a fantastic font and Free!) so it was just a matter of mixing, inking and layering the elements. Also I got to use up some of the flowers I crocheted last summer on this card.

this card qualifies for the following challenges: ABC Challenge (use your stash), Crafty Ann (anything goes), Cupcake craft challenge (Beautiful Blooms), Drunken Stampers (use your scraps), Stampin when I can (brads) and Little Red Wagon (brads).

Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

  1. Do you know where you found the crochet pattern for the flowers. The cards are cute and you cleaned at the same time amazing lol

    1. Hi Rebacca, there is a great easy pattern here on nicole heady’s blog: http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2009/05/embellish-it-senior-challenge.html I like it because you can follow the patter all the way through for a double blossom or stop at step 5 for the flowers on my card. Once you get the basics you can experiment with stitched and petals and make a variety of flowers. t takes me about 5 minutes to make a flower as shown on my card and a double takes twice a slong. Also I prefer to use craft thread or crochet cotten instead of embroidery floss as the strand will not split on you:)
      Have fun!

  3. These are beautiful, Lindsay!!! You always have the best ideas, and I’ve probably said this before, but I just love your style! Thanks for linking up with the Drunken Stampers–and once again inspiring me to try something new!
