A new Video and Freebie!

Hi folks! I’m going to keep todays post as short and sweet as possible, I’m not feeling too well today so I am posting then back to bed! I wanted to make sure I told you about the big Lindsay’s stamp Stuff Birthday Party we are having here next week: We will kick it of with a 3 day blog hop where we will give away 19 LSS stamp sets, a 3 day Virtual Crop where there will be a freebie each day {sign up at the MyGrafico Community to play along} and lots of fun. It kicks of right here Tuesday! More details on this post.

Now on to the projects, I use the pincushion from the sew pretty stamp set to make this:

I colored the pincushion on the box with Prisma markers and the one on the card with copics, I love them both! See how I did the background in the video!

I love the bright colors I get when I use markers on white cardstock but then I am left with a white background, see how to “Faux Mask” and colored the background with chalk in this video {My hand is not even in the way!}

Here are some close-ups of the projects:

Digital Stamps: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff, Paper: K&Co
I used twill tape rather than ribbon in these projects for a vintage feel.

And now for the freebie! Here is a cute teapot that matches the stamps in the Teariffic stamp Set from Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff. Click the picture to download:

Enjoy a "spot of tea" for free!

Here is the matching set called Teariffic:

Digital Stamps: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Rubber stamps: SU!, Inkadinkado, Paper: DCVW, Sketch: 2s4y

I was looking for some inspiration this morning so I popped over to 2 sketches 4 you and mad 2 cards using both Laura’s sketch #49 and the bonus sketch. This card uses the bonus sketch and the “Baby” theme from Caardvarks:

The chick digi is from the cute easter stamp set from Lindsay's stamp stuff. See stamping tip at the end of this post 🙂

There are some fun techniques on this card. I stitched 4 pieces of 2″x7″ tissie paper together, fringed  and crinkled it (I got that tip from Johanna on Leah Fung’s blog) and hot glued it to my card, fun! Also I embossed the little dots on the scallop circle with my Crop-a-dial just by placing my paper in the eyelet setter part and giving a squeeze.

All of the die cuts were done with Sure Cuts a Lot  (SCAL) software using fonts! You can save 10% on scal until the 14th with coupon code: 8774959 SCAL lets you cut fonts from your computer with your Cricut machine, cool huh!

I colored the scissors from the Sew Pretty set with copics.

Here is another cool tip from Johanna, look at the little bow, all you do is fold a scrap of ribbon in 3 and tie it with thread, saves time, money and look how cute!

I had a bit of trouble stamping the “it’s a girl” on the tall card, the ink kept beading up on the cheap-o clear stamp so I scuffed it with an emery board (fingernail file) and now it works so well:

Use a fingernail file or fine grit sandpaper to improve a cheap clear stamp! Please note, this if for the silicone cheapos that you find in the craft store (like the dollar stamps) high quality clear stamp will not need this step. Stamp first, scuff later:)

Boy that was a lot to get through! Thanks for sticking with me and til next time happy crafting!

Singing in the Rain!

Happy Monday! We are actually having an unseasonably warm and sunny streak in the Northeast but this weeks LSS DT challenge is “Inspired by a song” and I have had the songs “Singing in the rain” and “Put on a Happy Face” stick n my head, probably because of all the rain we had last week! I used stamps form the new set Puddle Fun to make this set:

you get 12 stamps in this fun kit!

I was a big fan of Punky Brewster growing up and these bright colors and rainbows remind me of her, bring on the 80’s!

I ran out of room for the sentiment on this one LOL!

This card sports lyrics from “Singing in the Rain”:

My letter spacing was a bit off on the sentiment, if you are using a font that needs to connect but is off adjust the kerning in your wordprocessing or graphic software, I didn't notice until I had it printed already 🙂

The rain boots in the puddle fun set are plain so i doodled polka dots with my Tombow marker then colored them in with copics, simple to customize!

I used 5 stamps from the set on this scene, just layer the png files the way you want and erase any overlapping bits and you are good to go!

Now that I have probably got those songs stuck in your head check out what the rest of the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff Junior DT has made today:

Mmmm, vintagy goodness!

I love anything vintage! That is what inspired one of my newest cards, I used my new Sew Pretty Digital stamp set and until midnight you can get it for 25% off as well as all of my sets at The Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff shop at MyGrafico!

Digital Stamps: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Rubber stamps: SU! (sentiment) Inque boutique/Darice (pattern background)

To make the card I took a 5″x7″ cream card base and covered it with a glue stick and I layered bits of paper in a crazy quilt fashion then I drew stitched around the pieces. To make the sewing supplies image I used the spool, tape and thimble PNG stamps from the sew pretty set and overlapped them in my image software and erased the parts I didn’t want. easy peasy! I colored them with my Copics then O used a pon-pom to apply tan chalk to the background then I too a dress pattern rubber stamp and inked it with clear ink and stamped over the whole image. After that I took a pon-pom with brown chalk and rubbed the chalk over the background areas only to make the dress pattern appear, cool huh! I love to print my stamps on Neenah cardstock (thanks Micki!) but I hat that what background staring at me so this solves that problem while letting me have the rich bright marker colors that are achieved by coloring on white!

Here is a look at the set I used, remember the 25% off sale is only until Midnight tonight!

Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

Sew Pretty and a Freebie!

Hello folks, it is Thursday again and time to find out what has been happening in the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff shop.  I decided to use my Sewing Stuff stamp and this weeks sketch from 2sketches4you and the challenge to use lace over at Caardvarks to make this card:

In addition to the real lace I used a Cornelli lace wheel stamp for a touch of homespun charm:)

I am very happy how the card turned out. I cut one of Penny Duncan’s “Nesties” for the sentiment using my Cricut and SCAL software (save 10% on SCAL with coupon code: 8774959) then I used a tradional rubber stamp (SU) for the verse. I poked holes around the edges and drew on my “stitches” with a pen 😉

I have been drawing up a storm this week and I have a few new sets out, on of which cooranates with the Sewing Stuff set, it is called Sew Pretty.

Here are two more new sets in the shop, Puddle fun and Teariffic:

and now for the freebie, a pretty frame made of ribbon, click on the image to download 🙂
