Hello folks, as you all know Earth day is this week and what better way to celebrate than by upcycling junk for craft use and finding supplies from nature? I was wandering in the woods near my home and found some birch bark on the ground (never remove bark from trees please!) and I save it and let it dry out knowing it would be great on a card:

I stapled the bark to thick kraft paper to make a frame then layered stamped elements over it. The moose id from the Funky Forest set from Lindsay’s stamp Stuff {shameless plug} and all of the others are from Hampton art {one of those little flip books of stamps, be sure to scuff them good with an emery board before the first use} I stamped them in brown dye ink and colored them with markers and layered them with foam tape. The rainbow was cut from a scrap of paper. The fringe is simple tissue paper folded in half, fringe sniped and stapled on. easy peasy and eco-friendly!
This card qualifies for (or I hope it does) the GC48: Random Redhead Challenge – Growth.
Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
This is the perfect Fathers Day card (and I like the little “psychedelic” details, for all those dads from the 60s!). It’s darling, and just right for the Gingersnaps Growth Challenge!

oohhh that’s is awesome. I wish we had forests like that here in Kansas. I know when I lived in NY by Bear Mountain, I loved it because the forests reminded me a lot of Germany.
That is a great way to upcycle and the card is awesome.

This card is wonderful, and so creative. Would never have thought to use bark on my cards, although there is very little around in Vegas, LOL. This is why I am in love with all the ladies in the Gingersnap Group everyone is so talented and they share all of their knowledge. Look forward to seeing more of your talents, and great job on your first challenge.
