Easy Envelopes {and other fun stuff!}

I took my kids to see The Princess and the Frog this week, I have to say it was a wonderful movie, even my 7-year-old son liked it. That influenced my project this week, I used the Pretty Princess Digital stamp set, Pretty Favors SVG and Birthday Cupcakes Stamps & Templates:

Everything you need for a birthday party! Pretty stamps, favor bags and cupcake wrappers all easy and quick!

I used the blank cupcake wrapper template in the Birthday Cupcakes set and took the png version of the crown stamp from the Pretty Princess set and layered the crown on the wrapper before printing. The purple wrapper was cut with my Cricut and SCAL software using the SVG file included in the kit. The Birthday Cupcake set with the SVG template is on sale for $2.25 right now at Lindsay’s stamp stuff!

SVG cutting templates make quick work of favors and decorations!

My friend (and fellow DT) Micki sent me some wonderful cardstock to play with, I printed all of the stamps for this project on Neenah solar white smooth and WOW! that stuff felt like silk to the touch, blending with my Bics, Copics and prismas was a breeze!

I love how bright my colors look on the Neenah cardstock!

I have decided to make an envelope for each card  make when I make it (not 5 minutes before I rush out the door to go to a birthday party) and I figured out a very easy way to make one with my cricut using either SCAL or Design Studio. all you need to do is take 2 rounded rectangles (make sure you check “weld” on each shape you use) and overlay them like this:

An easy way to make an envelope in DS or SCAL!

On the envelope I made here I did that but also I welded a label shape to the flap to fancy it up a bit:)

Stamps/Template: Lindsay's stamp stuff, Markers: Copic/Prismacolor, Paper: DCWV, Punch SU!

I know it is easy to do but You can download my envelopes if you like. They are sized to make a 5.5″x5.5″ envelope but you can simply drag them to the size you need.

Download a scut file to cut with your cricut and any version of scal here. *note this is a plain flap envelope, you can shorten the vertical  flap and weld on a scallop or fancy shape if you wish.

Download a cut file if you have a Cricut and Design Studio and the George cartridge. There are 3 envelopes in this file, each on separate layers, The first layer only used George, the other two also use accent essentials, there is a fancy flap one like the envelope pictured and a scallop flap one. these make 5.5″ square envelopes but you can adjust them as needed:)

And now for the freebie. I know many of you like to make ATCs (artist trading cards) so how about a stamp to use on the back. You can print out a sheet of these on cardstock and stamp and decorate the flip-side, how fun! Click the picture to download:)

Enjoy this fun freebie! Click picture to download. Persona use only, font licensed from http://www.letteringdelights.com.

Let me know what you think of this. If you like it I may make a full set of funky ATC backs!

  1. Oh, what fun! We had a “movie party” before going to see the Princess and the Frog! Jacob made a welcome sign for his guests using some of those same images! Thanks for the ATC backs. I LOVE making ATCs!!! Great stuff this week 🙂

  3. What a great birthday set! No little ones at home any more so I have no excuse to see the Princess and the Frog, but I’ll have to sneak it in when it comes out on video! The froggy favor bag is my fave!
