Cleaning my craft room…NOT!

Well at least I tried too but as always I got distracted by all of the little pretties scattered about and made a scrapbook page instead. Before I get distracted again πŸ™‚ Let me remind you that SELECT digital stamp sets are 50% off in both the Lindsay’s stamp Stuff shophandmade shop and my shop at MyGrafico.

OK, now here is the layout:

Look at what I had lying around on my craft table! I'd rather scrap that put stuff away any day!

I used leftovers just lying around on my scrap table, the flower digi stamps are from the Fancy Flower digital stamp set, the panda is a dollar stamp from inkadinkado, the conversation hearts are from About art Accents and the post-it notes are form the dollar aisle at JoAnns. All of these stamps had been stamped and colored and they were just lying about on my table at the time, at least there are a few things I don’t have to put away LOL!

Thanks for stopping by and till next time happy crafting!

Signs of Spring {and a freebie!}

This week I asked my junior DT to make projects with the theme “Signs of Spring”. I played with my Fancy Flowers digital stamp set and my brand new Copic markers that my mom gave me for Valentines Day (yes, I am spoiled rotten!) and made these…oh while you are thinking of spring don’t forget that holiday and winter products are 50% off in the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff shop!

Stamps: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Markers: Copic

I printed my digital stamps on cheap Royal Bright satin photo paper I bought years ago at Sam’s club, this paper was awful for photos but I love the way it worked with my markers, it has a smooth pearly finish (I’m so glad I didn’t toss it!) the card bases were made from the pretty colored file folders I bought at Sam’s Club last week, in fact all of the paper besides the yellow and the white photo paper is the smead file folders, frugal!

Stamps: Lindsay's stamp Stuff, Markers Copic

This card with the daffodils is my favorite, I’ll probably look at it next week after I get more experience with the markers and say “yuck” but for now I am pleased πŸ™‚

Stamps: Lindsay's stamp stuff, Markers: Copic, Die cuts: Cricut (storybook)

I just realized that the paper I printed the 3 flowers on for the above card is GP Image Plus Cardstock (Sam’s club $7 for 250 sheets) and I love how the colors blended, of course next week that might be a different story πŸ™‚

I was having a lot of fun coloring, I wish I could get the background to blend, experience!

This next card I sent to Mom as a thank you for the markers, she bought herself a set too and is counting on me to teacher her how to use them, I better practice!

Stamps: Lindsay's stamp stuff, MArkers Copic, Punch: Stampin Up

And here is a new set in the shop just in time for spring called Birds & Branches:

SVG cutting template by Blackleaf and Lindsay's stamp stuff available at

Here I used my Pretty Favor Box SVG (I cut a heart window in it from the basic Shapes menu in SCAL and backed it with acetate) and Favor Boxes and Valentine Cupcake wrappers from Blackleaf. All of these sets are available at MyGrafico and they all include SVG files to cut with your Cricut and SCAL software and printable versions. Take a look at how I converted the cupcake wrapper into a basket:

Cupcake wrapper: Blackleaf, Scallop circle from the font Kutups09

I simply welded a scallop circle to the bottom of this basket (the wrapper was 9″ wide and the scallop circle was about 2.75″ wide) then I folded the “tabs” up and glued the basket together. Note: when cutting the intricate cupcake wrappers use a smooth lightweight cardstock and add a shadow of 0.00, It make intricate files easier to cut. If you don’t have SCAL software here is a coupon for $16 off through 2/15/2010: 2237421

have a wonderful Valentines day, don’t forget the 20% storewide sale at MyGrafico is only on until midnight Sunday, til next time happy crafting!

Easy Tracing in SCAL2!

Howdy folks, just a quick post tonight to share the decorations I made with with my cricut and SCAL software for my Sons Cub Scout Banquet this week. The photos are not great but you can get the idea, I found all of the boy scout logos on this website and it stated they were free to use if you are using them for cub scout functions.

these were easy to make in scal 2!

Turning the logo clipart to cutting files was so easy, I save the badges I wanted from the website, opened scal, clicked the trace button and selected the file and viola, I had a cutting file! The only one I had to alter was the arrow of light because the design was hollow so I filled it in with the paintbucket tool in PSP then traced it, still easy:)

I have a coupon for $16 off SCAL through feb 16th: 2237421

Well, my laptop is about out of juice, til next time happy crafting!

50% off and a freebie!

Happy Thursday folks! I thought with Valentines Day this weekend I should have a sale on my Valentine products, but since many of you already have my valentine sets and templates I decided to put all of my holiday and winter sets on sale too:

You will save 50% off Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day, even Mardi Gras! The sale prices are good in both my shophandmade shop (where you get a free $1 stamp for every $5 you spend) and they are on sale in the Lindsay’s stamp stuff MyGrafico shop too where you receive your stamps instantly!

Stamps from the Doodle Flowers set: Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

Today I thought I would play with my Doodle Flowers stamp set and my Cricut. The fry box is today’s freebie, there are little notches in the back so you can see where to score. To make the front puff out you need to score the bottom of the box on a curve. I simply lined an oval template up between each edge and used a bone folder to score mine, easy peasy! The tag was made with the Storybook cricut cartridge and all of the cardstock I used was actually file folders by Smead, when I saw the pretty colors at Sam’s Club the other day I couldn’t resist and they cut beautifully in the cricut!

Download the Fry Box svg here to cut with your Cricut Machine if you have SCAL software. If you don’t have SCAL software here is a coupon for $16 off through 2/15/2010: 2237421 *that is the best coupon I’ve seen!

Here is a printable PDF template for the fry box if you don’t have a cricut πŸ™‚

Quick tips:

I knew I was going to cut these digital stamped images out so I colored them very sloppy and quickly, coloring outside the lines makes a design you will trim closely look more polished!

Instead of carefully cutting around the ladybugs antenna I cut them off entirely and drew them on with a pen.

Now lets see what the Senior Design team had for you today, also don’t forget to check out the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff shop to see the new set’s I’ve added πŸ™‚

Customer Spotlight: Linda Martin

I thought it would be fun to see what some of my customers are making with my digital stamps. I occasionally come across cards and crafts made with my products and it is so heartwarming to see your creations. The other day I was browsing the gallery at MyGrafico and I saw some projects that truly knocked my socks off:

This is a 3-D applique embroidery design by Linda Martin made with my Layered Lily digital stamp.

Here is a look at the design on a pillow:

What a lovely pillow!

The Layered Waterlily digital stamp can be found here. Not only does she embroider fabric but cards as well, Linda made these fab cards with the Love Grows here set:

This card was made from the Love grows here set!

I love the stitching, so vintage and homespun:)

Linda Martin is a clever crafter, when I asked her what inspires her crafts she said:

“What inspires me as an artist? Me inspired, I always think that is a funny concept. My sister says I must have a file cabinet in my head and just pull whatever I need when I need it. My DIL BethAnne says God sticks the ideas in my head every night, when I say my prayers and go to sleep. I say I am just a bit on the crazy side. I had one design educator tell me a was an over achiever– but, I really think it’s– that when I see something in my head I need to get it out before I forget how I saw it. Must be that age thing. LOL Mostly, I think, Β I have always had a gift to look at something and see it another form beyond the surface. A really badly painted room into a beautifully painted one, that sort of thing. Your 3D paper design into a 3D fabric one. Also, living on a 13 acre cay in the middle of sea creates the need for learning to use and adapt what you have on hand.”

Well, Linda, I’m glad you see the world the way you do and you bring more beauty into it. You can buy her embroidery designs at *Just a note, you may recognize some of Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff and other MyGrafico designers graphics for sale in her shop. All art sold with the commercial licence can be converted AS-IS for digital embroidery, but must be altered if used in a commercial purpose for other formats.

Thanks for sharing your art with is Linda, and thanks for stopping by, til next time happy crafting:)

Fancy Favors!

In a few months the wedding season will be in full swing. My niece is getting married this year and when she asked if I could come up with some cute favor bags I jumped at the chance! She inspired my Pretty Favor SVG set, they are pretty and elegant and cut very quickly on the Cricut machine and they will cut perfectly on the “Baby Bug” (the 6″x12″ cricut) or you can cut several at a time on the Expression. You will need a computer program such as SCAL to cut these with your Cricut, here is a coupon for $16 off if you do not have it yet: 2237421. Of course you can resize them as you like but the ones in the example here are about 4″ wide x 5″ high and 1 3/4″ deep, perfect for holding mints or candy!

Quick and easy favor boxes from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff!

The stamps on the boxes are from the Fancy Flowers digital stamp set, you get 9 high quality digital stamps in png and jpg format. I watercolored the stamps, that made the boxes quick to make! To watercolor a digital stamp simply print it in a color close to what you will paint it so if the printer ink smears you will not notice. I used Colorific metallic watercolors that were a dollar at a job lots store!

You can use your favorite border punch on the top edge of this box before assembling for a lovely touch!

This is the design that my niece picked, she has a diffrent color scheme though, I’ll share a pic when her’s are done πŸ™‚

The cut-in handle on this box eliminates the need for ribbons! So quick and easy!

For extra flair you can cut a window in any of these boxes and back it with acetate for a peek-a-boo treat box!

You can't go wrong with scallops!

Here is a peek at the kits I used:

This set has SVG cutting templates & printable for $3!

9 digital stamps for $5

Now lets see what wonderful projects the Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff DT had for us today, there is sure to be some clever last-minute Valentine’s Day ideas for you πŸ™‚
