There is another celebration coming up besides valentines day…Mardi Gras! February 24 is officially Mardi Gras and I have had it on the brain ever since I started reading the Laura Childs scrapbooking mysteries that take place in New Orleans. That is the inspiration behind this new template set available at Lindsay’s Stamp Stuff! Also All of my products are 25% off at MyGrafico today and tomorrow, stock up folks!

Here is a closer look at the Mardi Gras mask. I used purple, green and gold (traditional Mardi Gras colors) feathers to decorate it. I stamped the designs on the face and embossed them with gold tinsel EP before attaching the nose. The nose is a separate file and can be added to any of the masks, to use it fold it in half the long way then fold back the squared of corners and glue them together, that gives you a sturdy base to attach it to the mask.

I also included a card template for any costume party invitations you might need, I think it kind of looks like a fancy eye pillow so it would be cute as a spa party invite or even a bachelorette party invitation!

The Masquerade Mask templates come in SVG so you can cut them with a Cricut machine and SCAL software, and PDF so you can just print them on cardstock, cut and decorate, easy as pie…or Beignets!
I have also had banners on the brain this week! Here is a new set called Pretty Banners SVG that has 8 cutting files for adorable banners perfect to decorate your home for birthday parties and holidays! I have included jpg files as well if you want to hand cut them or convert them for another digital die cutter besides the cricut.

OK, the moment you have been waiting for….the weekly freebie! You can’t think about New Orléans without the Fleur-De-Lis coming to mind to I made a free set for you with 4 digital stamps and an SVG cutting file! If you have a cricut Machine but don’t have SCAL software yet I have a coupon for you to save 10% until January 18th: 9388463 On this scrapbook page I used my Cricut and scal software to cut the Fleur-de-lis shape and the orange mesh around the photo with todays freebie and I used a computer font for the title, talk about cheap and easy (BTW the fleur-de-lis is the symbol for Boy Scouts of America too!)

Plus it really brought back memories of ‘Fashing’ in Germany. As a child, it’s like the equivalent to Halloween as far as dressing up.

Way cute Lindsay – we’re not really into Mardi Gras here, but I did get to attend some fun festivities at Universal Studios while on a business trip. 🙂 I do like the idea of using the little masks as invites for a sleepover or bridal event. Thanks for the inspiration.
