Wild About Woodgrain!

I love the look of woodgrain paper, I’ve seen th trend around for a while but there were no woodgrain pattern papers in the scrapbook shop in my neck of the woods so I made my own:

Card by Lindsay Weirich, Stamps: Pink Persimmion

It is really fun and easy to do! You can get inexpensive woodgrain tools at your local hardware store, they are fun to use on furniture but you can use them on paper too. Here’s how:

Lay out a sheet of heavy paper like cardstock or even a paper shopping bag. Squirt some acrylic paint on top. Pull the woodgrain tool through the paint and watch the magic happen! You need to work quickly when using paper because the paint will absorb and dry and you never know how it will come out until you do it. If you get a paper you love scan it so you can use it again and again. I scanned some of mine and you can download them for free from this post.

The stamps I used on this project are from Pink Persimmon in the Oh Dear set.

Well I’m off to enjoy a stressful day, half way through our remodeling project our flooring installer just quit, the house is in shambles and I have no idea what I am going to do. Oh, well, such is life right? Until next time happy crafting!

Sorry I haven’t been good at keeping up with your blog lately. Things have been nutty!
