I was thrilled to find out that the Oriental Art Stamp Challenge was Haiku this week, I looked at websites trying to find a poem to use and none fit the bill so I wrote my own. I’m not a poet but I do like the way my card turned out:

I used leftover plastic packaging that some of my daughters Christmas presents came in last year…I remember them well because they were very expensive dolls that each of my girls wanted (they peed on a potty you see, why anyone would want such a toy I do not know) so they each got one and they rarely play with them. At least I am getting good use from the packaging LOL! I cut a piece of plastic 10″x6″ and scored it in the middle with my Scor-Pal. This stuff is very thick so scoring is a must! I folded it and dabbed it with alcohol ink. Stamped the Chinese woman and butterflies (both from About Art Accents) with black staz on and sprayed the inside of the card with shimmer spray. After that was dry I painted the geisha (from the back if the plastic) with gold alcohol ink. I added hot glue drop colored with red alcohol ink as a finish. Also a bit of copper string to gussy up the inside.
Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
