Handmade Felt Embellisments

This trend is hot, felt embellishments! You can make your own with rubber stamps, felt, acrylic paint and chalk. It’s quick too!

Autumn Leaves

Felt Embellishments by Lindsay Weirich, Stamps: Autumn Leaves

Choose a bold line drawing stamp like the Mindy’s Zoo Stamps by Autunm Leaves. Use a sponge brush to dab black acrylic paint on the stamp and with as much pressure as you can muster press the stamp onto the felt. Rinse the stamp off and let the felt dry. Color the image with chalk (also called pastels) sticks or pencils. Cut out and add it to your next project! You can also use your old fashioned Die cutting machine, with the thick dies to cut felt as well! Try using paper piecing patterns with the felt too. It is a great way to add touchable texture to your next project. If you want the look (but don’t want to do the work) check out the die cut felt designs available at Creative Cuts and More. You can get the felt shapes for a song and add stitching, color buttons you name it. Try it, you’ll like it! Also if you have a local craft store with a die cut center you can usually buy the felt from them and use the machine for free, just ask! Thanks for stopping by and until next time Happy Crafting!
