Free Adjustable Pillowbox Template!

Hi all! A blog reader asked if I could help her make a pillow-box that she could cut with her Cricut and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. (Thanks Pam!) Here is what I came up with:

I really liked it so I made an SVG version for SCAL users and a printable version as well. They are all adjustable but the svg and printable versions are probably the easiest to adjust. The little boxes can be cut on the 6″x12″ cricut and the larger one can be done by hand or on the expression.

I also used Accent Essentials (it came with my Expression as well as Plantain Schoolbook and man, I love that little cart! I keep it down in the art room with my little bug) to cut the swirls and scallop tags. The stamp is from The Rubber Cafe, you know I saw the stamp in my DT stuff this month and thought “eh” I wasn’t crazy about it but now that I’ve used it I really think it is sweet, plus it’s the perfect size for a tag! I never would have picked it but I am glad to have it. It’s cute don’t you think.

  14. Thank you so much! I found a few pillow boxes that I love and have been wanting to make one but couldn’t find it on any of my cartridges. I thought it was on Tags, Bags, Boxes and More but, if it is, I certainly can’t find it! I have DS but haven’t really learned how to design anything on it… I suppose I should take the time to learn. 🙂

    1. After you cut it fold it in the middle (between the bumps) and fold the curved flap at the end, then take an ovel template (I use Creative memories) or a plate and use a dull knife or scorinf tool to score a curve (curving toward the inside of the box) to make the edges curve in when folded. glue the flp in the end to the inside and let dry, then fold the side flaps in. I am using this file on a project this weekend and I will post photos on how it is made, otherwise look at this template for an idea on how to score and fold: http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/puffy.htm

  20. This is my fist post EVER.
    I am new to cricut/SCAL/downloading files/stamping/embossing and such . . . . .I am amazed at all the stuff on the internet and VINYL on walls my goodness was a fabulous invention (my first circuit/SCAL project was a vinyl saying for my wall)

    I love looking at all the extraordinary projects online … “AMAZING” is an understatement
