I exchanged my first Christmas gift of the year last night! My friend Heather gave me a gorgeous thick red blanket and cookie making kit and I gave her this:

Yeah, she probably got the raw end of the deal LOL! But knowing her the tea will get drank, the stationary will be used and the chocolate (not shown) will be eaten! The cool think about the stationary set is that you can make 6 cards and envelopes with 3 sheets of 12″x12″ pattern paper and 2 sheets of 8.5″x11″ cardstock! Whip up a few for hostess gifts, you can make a set in an hour, quicker if you do several assembly line style!

Here’s how:
Use your Cricut or hand cut 6 envelopes out of pattern paper. 2 will fit on each sheet. Download the envelope template for design studio here, I used George to make it so anyone with DS can use it. It is sized for the 6″x12″ Cricut. If you dont have a cricut you can download a print and cut version here. OR if you have the Paper Pups cart just use that envelope!

Fold in the side flaps of the envelopes and use a q-tip to apply envelope glue and fold up the bottom flap and press it into the glue. Then apply the envelope glue to the flap and let it dry.
Punch labels out of the scraps an ink the edges. You can use any punch you want, the one I used is the Stampin Up Designer Label but if you don’t have that you can download a .cut file for your cricut at Okieladybug’s blog here.
The folded size of the cards is 3.5″x4.25″. Cut your cardstock in strips 3.5″ wide by 8.5″ long and fold. Roll a stamp wheel from top to bottom of your card if you like. I useed the Carte Postal Wheel and Old Olive ink. You will have a strip leftover from each peice of cardstock. Punch out circles, stamp and ink the edges. I used the Stampin Up set “Circle of Friendship” but a monagram (First letter of the recipent’s last name) would be lovely too.
Putting it all together!
Stick a strip of doublesided tape 1″ up from the bottom of the card and lay a peice of grossgrain ribbon over it. Tape on the label and use foam squares to attach the stamped circle. All Done. You can add candles, tea, can candy bars to the set wrapped in cooradnating papers too. It’s a fun, east thoughtful gift that wont end up shoved in the back of the closet or on the “return” counter!
