Giveaway! Year of the Horse Stamp Set!

Howdy friends! I had another chance to play with my new Year of the Horse rubber stamps from About Art Accents (you can see another project with them here)  and here are the results:

DCF 1.0

2014 might be the year of the horse but I can see myself using this versatile stamp set over and over again in not only my Asian themed cards but in general cards too. Watch this video to see how I used my watercolor pencils to stamp and paint on plain cream cardstock. It is so easy!

Here is a close up of the finished card. If I didn’t use origami paper I think the card would have a Southwestern flair! Totally versatile!

DCF 1.0

So, now do you want to win these stamps from About Art Accents? Leave a comment and I will draw a winner next Friday the 24th! That’s all there is to it! Thanks for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!

  3. Lindsay – thank you for all you share – The watercolor stamping is another use for these under used (at least at my house) tools that produce a fine effect. The horse is regal – can be used in many formats. Julie

It’s so nice of you to offer it like this. I am anxious to see how people are using it. Your card is absolutely incredible. Jan C.

  8. Beautiful. I really do need to try those Inktense pencils. Thanks for a chance to win, I love horses even though one kicked me in the stomach and one threw me overhead by coming to a complete stop after galloping LOL. Moody he was, did not want to be rode that day.

  9. GREAT card Lindsay!
I haven’t opened my 12 pack of Inktense Blocks yet. I’m seeing from your “pushing” your pencils to see if they can pull double-duty that I will probably return them.
Also, in most YouTubes, including Derwents’ own tutorials, featuring Intense Blocks I see a lot of broken up pieces of blocks, and that doesn’t appeal to me at all.

  10. I’d love to win! And I wouldn’t ride off into the sunset either!!

After watching this I tried using my regular water color pencils on a rubber stamp (brand is Sargent from Hobby Lobby, not expensive) and they worked very well. I wet the stamp first, then colored the stamp…as you demoed…..it was a feather stamp and it looked very painterly when dry. I will do this technique again.

    Nice cards btw.

  39. Wow! I never thought about water color pencils on rubber stamps. I’ve done this with markers, but the color is sometimes too intense. I’ll be revisiting my solid stamps for sure. As for your decision to place the added stamped images to the front of your card, why not add them to the inside of the card for continuous interest, or even on the back of the card for a bonus surprise.
